Ovolo Woolloomooloo
5.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (1001)
"This hotel is in an old converted warehouse, and it is a boutique hotel for a unique stay. The staff was so friendly, and the rooms were very nice: clean, comfortable and included a mini-bar stocked as part of the room price. A few people may be put off by the restaurant which is vegetarian for the breakfast buffet and vegan for dinner. However, there are other dining options very close by on the Woolloomooloo Wharf. "

The Tank Stream Hotel Sydney

"Great location. Smallish rooms that they have everything you need. Nice & clean. Excellent location - close to transport - trains, ferries, trams etc. Generally value for money. They could provide larger shampoo, body wash etc especially if sharing a room. Having the kettle in the cupboard for use is also difficult if you’re short and can’t see onto the shelf properly as you need to remove it from the cupboard to fill."

Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park
5.0 star property

"Good accommodation in ideal location, however the Park View Room with 1 King Bed that I paid for was indeed not a King Size Bed at all, but 2 Single Beds pushed together to make up a King Sized Bed & this was a little disappointing as the Single Beds that were pushed together where one of the Single Beds was a little higher than the other Single Bed that it was attached to & there was an uncomfortable BUMP where both of these singles mattresses joined & also one mattress was softer than the...

"We were really blown away when we arrived at this hotel after an 11 hour flight. Bellhops and check in staff all in pristine uniforms. It seemed like every guest was dressed in pressed business clothes. Ferraris and BMWs out front. Very fancy. We were in rumpled travel clothes. I don’t even think I had packed clothes for anything other than hiking or the beach. I felt so out of place, but every single employee made us feel like VIPs. From the front bellhop who told us silly stories and...

"The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were really nice. The staff was great. There was construction in the lobby that was affecting being able to enjoy the lobby. I was charged for a full breakfast when the breakfast was not being offered to its fullest capacity due to construction. It made me feel like customer service was lacking and I never sought breakfast at the hotel again. Other than the construction issues and mediocre service during that time the hotel is lovely. "

Accommodation in Australia

With a land mass of about 7.7 million square kilometres, it’s no surprise that Australia, the world’s only country-continent, offers a diverse landscape and a boatload of activities. Cairns in the northeast is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, while Sydney to the south is a bevy of culture and beachfront real estate. Inland, the Northern Territory invites visitors from around the world to make the hike around to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and watch its colours change with the sun’s movement. Whether you’re an adventure traveller or seeking R&R, you’ll find a healthy dose of things to do without leaving the southern hemi.

When to Visit

With so much coastline at your fingertips, you might assume summertime is the best season for travelling to and around Australia. However, between November and March you are apt to encounter a lot of humidity and precipitation on your travels. Meanwhile, September and October are lovely times for a journey. The best resorts in Australia don’t book up as quickly in the spring, and temperatures are comfortable—you can even spend time on a Southwest beach.

What to See and Do

What can you do in Australia? A better question might be, “What can’t you do?” Relax on the Whitsunday Islands, climb the Harbour Bridge in Sydney on the east coast, or hike Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. No matter which region you explore, there are opportunities for art, culture, cuisine, and more. Even better, car rentals in Australia allow you to see beyond the beaten path.

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most famous barrier reefs in the world. This reef is known for its beautiful sea life and vibrant coral. The Great Barrier Reef is large enough to spend several days exploring. Most divers leave from Cairns, but if you leave from the lesser-known Port Douglas, you can find dive spots that are less crowded.

Uluru

Also known as Ayer's Rock, Uluru is one of the oldest rocks in the world, and it is also one of Australia's most iconic attractions. The best time to view Uluru is during sunrise or sunset as the sky looks as though the sun exploded into a burst of breathtaking shades of red and orange. The aborigines of this area consider the rock to be sacred, but they do allow visitors to scale the rock.

Beaches

Australia has over 50,000 kilometers of coastline. The east coast tends to be busier than the western coast, but both coasts are gorgeous. And with so much coastline, it's easy to find a spot to relax by yourself.

Surfing

While Australia didn't invent surfing, the sport is deeply ingrained in Australian culture. The east coast is considered by many to be one of the best surf experiences in the country. Beginners and professional surfers alike may find that Noosa Beach is a great place to surf together.

Wine Country

Although France may be more well known for its wine, Australia has its own wine regions, and it produces fine wines. One such region is Margaret River near Perth. A trip to the vineyards is usually a simple day trip from nearby major cities.

Sydney

Sydney is home to many vibrant districts and neighbourhoods. The most iconic one has to be the city centre, home to the Sydney Opera House and other unmistakable landmarks. When you’ve got a busy itinerary, some of the best things to do in the Sydney CBD include picnics in the park. If you’re wondering what parks are in the CBD, visit Hyde Park or the Royal Botanic Garden, both on the east side of Sydney CBD.

Another iconic site in Australia is the Sydney Opera House in Sydney Harbor. This large city is filled with great sites such as the Chinese Garden. There are also some excellent parks such as Blue Mountains National Park (west of Sydney) and surf spots in Sydney as well.

Melbourne

This city is known for easygoing beach vibes and some spectacular shopping in the Melbourne CBD. Classic Melbourne shopping streets include vintage treasures on Sydney Road in Brunswick and the design houses on Collins Street. All these price tags probably have you wondering, “Are there free things to do in Melbourne CBD”? The answer is yes! Check out the National Gallery of Victoria, sunbathe on the beach in St Kilda, and stop by coffee houses and bars for local live music.

Brisbane

It’s no secret that this city is surrounded by sweet surf breaks. Don’t skip out on all the awesome attractions in Brisbane CBD,
though! Want to know which is the main street in Brisbane CBD? Look no further than Queen Street. The entire thoroughfare is lined with historical buildings and it’s where you’ll find Queen Street Mall, a locally loved open-air market and dining destination.
