"Very nice place to stay. Quiet."
Good value for place to stay. Relatively quiet. Lots of pools. But know that this is not near city center or area of beach that can be used if box jellyfish are a concern.

We enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately on the first day of our stay, I had an accident in their pool. The paint that they used was slippery. It was a bad fall that I had. From my knee down to my feet I have bruise and cuts and it was bleeding a lot. I did inform them, but no consolation. The pool needs repairs.

"Great pool, good sized rooms-needs updating though"
We have just returned for a few days holiday at the Ramada hotel- the pool is great, the tropical environment in the complex is fantastic and the rooms are a great size. We felt safe, welcome and we enjoyed our stay there! However- there was a lack of staff in the restaurant and the bar and we were left waiting for a very long time. We decided to have breakfast there on our first morning before going to he rainforest- we were waiting for 45 mins for eggs on toast- and my poached eggs were solid inside. I would have sent them back but we were in a rush and getting impatient and i didn't want to wait any longer. There was only 2 people in the restaurant working, and one in the kitchen- they were all very lovely and friendly yet could have done with more people working alongside them. Also for the bar and 'happy hour'- we would be waiting at the pool bar a long time as no one would come down to serve us as there was a big queue at the bar above us....people were getting very impatient, so again- more staff than 2 would have been appreciated. The staff were all friendly and eager to help, and they cleaned our room daily. The rooms very large and had all that we needed! I just feel they could be spruced up a bit- the bathroom is a little dated and the hotel room doors are starting to look very worn and old. We had a great time there, and would go back...just would not recommend the restaurant or bar due to slow service and the food was average.

"Close to everything! So easy to get around!"
We got upgraded to a pool access room which was great. The hotel has free car parking. Although wifi is at a cost, it wasn't too unreasonable. I love how central the hotel was to everything (shops, restaurants, marina)

Chilly weather is never in the forecast in Port Douglas, where warm winters follow sultry summers year after year. Fall and spring are almost indistinguishable from each other, and serve as only subtle transitions between the more extreme seasons. The tropical monsoon climate in this region also leads to many rainy days, the majority of which fall during the summer–especially in February. Winters are sunny and breezy with comparatively low levels of humidity, while the wet summers occasionally play host to severe storms. Regardless of the time of year, though, temperatures rarely rise above 30 degrees Celsius or slip below 17 degrees, making Port Douglas an ideal destination for those who despise the cold.

    Travel Basics

Port Douglas has two primary seasons: the green season and the dry season. The green season often begins in November with the first monsoon and lasts until about May. During the dry season the temperature is generally between 17 and 26 degrees Celsius, and in the green season the temperature can rise to about 33 degrees Celsius. While the green season brings warm water conditions, it also marks the season when sea wasps, called “stingers,” make an appearance in the ocean near the coast. Swimming should only take place within marked enclosures during this time.

Getting around Port Douglas and the surrounding area is made possible by shuttle buses, bicycle rentals, and rental cars. If you make a visit to the Daintree Rainforest, be sure to mind the rules. Do not feed the wildlife, refrain from picking flowers or plants, and stay safe by keeping to the boardwalks.
