"Nice place to stay"
Stayed for 2 nights to see Floriade, very modern, quiet, safe, clean hotel. Check in was quick and pleasant with excellent communication of facilities. Room was on second floor, very clean, bed was very soft as were the pillows. Only problem was shower door would not close tight and water run out over the floor saturating the bath mat and making the floor very wet and slippery. Reported to reception and they sent someone to fix and left extra towels just in case, however it was still leaking. Could be a safety concern if someone slips. Otherwise overall a good place to stay.

"Mid week escape"
Lovely and quiet, love the indoor plants and atmosphere. Better dinner options from the bar not the restaurant and was disappointed this was not offered to us on the Monday night. Chose to eat in Thursday and both meals were fresh and delicious. I can recommend the flourless choclAte cake. Staff were friendly and courteous. Basic one bedroom apartment, kitchen a little small but fine. Toilet jammed in the corner of a large room, making it akward. Overall though great clean room, great staff and food and great atmosphere. Had a great time. Will stay there again.

"Great spot, some issues with the room"
A very clean and spacious room. The hotel is in a great spot close to Braddon. It has a secure car park. The staff were very friendly and competent. Unfortunately there was no phone reception from my room - I could not use my mobile phone! Also, the curtains did not block out the light from outside and the windows did a poor job at blocking out the sound of Northbourne avenue.

"Close to the capital, walking distance to shops"
Great hotel with very friendly staff, good facilities and fantastic rooms and beautiful breakfast buffet. However, avoid room 171 as its wall shares a wall with the public toilets for the bar area and you are kept awake with doors closing, taps turning on and off, and the worst is the hand dryer that makes tons of noise- then to top it off, the cleaner comes in at 5 am and wakes you up cleaning. After explaining this to management, they were sympathetic to my concerns and did compensate.

"Good and comfortable hotel"
On weekdays parking could be a problem. Paid parking in front and in the streets surrounding the hotel OR in a (shared) parking garage are in short supply. Free parking in the weekends is hardly available

"Great hotel; great room; great stay"
My experience, like every time I stay, is excellent. From check in to check out and everything in between is excellent. I have stayed at the Little National a few times now and every time I am happy with the service and the facilities. The bed is one of the best. I sleep so well every time I stay. Every thing is also just outside your door so if you want to stay in or go out you have options. Very happy and will continue to come back when I visit Canberra.

"Comfortable stay spoilt by booking glitch. "
On check in assigned different room from booked. TV remote not working. No room information at all. Had to use mobile to ring reception. Problems fixed promptly. Items missing supplied after some time. 'Compendium' not provided for 3 days. Bedroom had only bulky dated wardrobe, one bedside table, other side jammed against wardrobe. Whole room had only to small drawers & small shelf. Bathroom had no cabinet shelves or drawers. Shower had no floor lip, water streamed to drain in middle of bathroom. On presenting list of woes to reception we were pleased to be served by Emily who arranged maintenance to rectify the shower problem promptly by helpful staff. She also apologised for our problems and arranged generous compensation. Good points were cleanliness and excellent bed. The 'Realm Precinct' and restaurants and facilities in the adjacent Realm Hotel were all very good.

    Things to Do in Canberra

A fantastic destination for history buffs and culture fanatics alike, Canberra is a city located in a beautiful and inspiring setting. The Parliament House is practically a required viewing for any visitor to this city, and the Australian War Memorial is also well worth the trip. There are a variety of educational hot spots to see in Canberra, including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Museum of Australia, and the National Portrait Museum. Another institution of note is Questacon, also known as the National Science and Technology Centre, which houses hundreds of geeky interactive exhibits.

Touring the Australian National Botanic Gardens, where you’ll find thousands of native flower species, is a great way to spend a morning. For later in the day, the nearby Lake Burley Griffin, or “LBG” for short, invites visitors to canoe, sail, or windsurf on the waters of this manmade lake surrounded by parkland. If you’re interested in some bushwalking, take a trip to the top of Black Mountain, which is just west of the business district on the shores of LBG. And it’s at the top of this mountain where you’ll find Telstra Tower, an impressive telecommunications station that looks like an alien structure, featuring an observation deck with unhindered views of the surrounding area.
