Stunning artistic villa

Spent a week here.

Absolutely fabulous property. Clean and decorated so well. Sonja was amazing organising transfers from the airport and a hire car. Area is quiet but it is a short walk to the restaurants. Lots of wonderful beaches and rocky pools to explore. We didn’t want to come home😢

Wonderful home

A gem of a holiday home - super stylish, great communication from Sonja throughout, neat location for town and beach (on bus route too), restruants and shops in walking distance, lovely pool, and a very well equipped home. The house offers all day sun and shade - pending your preference. The house is on a road, but it does not distract. If you are staying in Gozo - you will not be disappointed.

Awesome !

Fantastic house on a fantastic island ! We were a family of 4, including 2 kids 14 & 12 years old. We really appreciated the pool on the evening, coming back from visiting this wonderful island. We fell in love with the roof where you can spend hours looking at the stars, lying down in the hammock. Bedrooms were great, as the terrace. It's easy to find a parking space for your car around the house : on that point, I thank Sonja, the owner, who gave me a nice contact to rent the car. They brought us the car to the house the day we arrived ! House is well located, a few minutes walk from the town center, and short drive to go to the beach or to go to other part of the island. Sonja, the owner, is a wonderful person, always available on Whatsapp : thanks for all ! To resume, I think we rented more than 20 houses since we travel with our kids and it is the most fantastic one we rented.

- Sehr gute und unkomplizierte Abwicklung. - Sehr gute Erreichbarkeit und Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin - Probleme (z.B. defekter Kühlschrank) wurden unmittelbar gelöst - Xaghra war für uns die schönste Stadt auf Gozo mit einem tollen Marktplatz inkl. hervorragender Restaurants und wöchentlicher Live-Musik.

Beautiful property, lovely location. A luxurious home from home.

We recently spent a week at Sonja's gorgeous house. So comfortable, we hardly wanted to go out! Our teenage son particularly appreciated being able to have his own space - afforded by the sheer number of rooms and outdoor areas. Oh, and WiFi of course! Pool area perfect for relaxing - always a mixture of sun and shade to suit, and the pool itself was clean and the perfect temperature. Bedrooms lovely - air conditioning a very welcome essential - with en suite shower rooms fully equipped with toiletries. The village square is a ten minute walk away, with several great restaurants to try. Lots of delicious fish and seafood. And you can pretty much get anywhere on Gozo in 5-10 minutes by car! A perfect spot for relaxing and recharging the batteries. Thank you.

Fantastic stylish home in a great location

Just got back from a wonderful 7 night stay at Sonja's beautiful home in Xaghra, Gozo. What a great choice we made! Her place is a stylish and comfortable converted farmhouse, a little like an upmarket boutique hotel but with the touches that actually make it a home which most obviously it is. When we opened the front door and went in we were hit with the wow factor and after exploring the house further felt immediately at home and took no time to feel totally relaxed. It has some great areas in which to chill out like the pool area and the upstairs terrace that sits just outside the bedrooms. We were out exploring beautiful Gozo most of the time but when back at home we really enjoyed making use of these areas and took a dip in the pool everyday. The living room too was nice and comfortable just to relax in sometimes when inside. The kitchen was great although we only used it for breakfast mostly as we ate out a lot, but it was very well equipped and I imagine you could make some really nice meals in it. It has a breakfast bar type island in the centre which we liked to sit around in the mornings discussing our plans for the day. The location was pretty much perfect for us too. The island is small and easily navigated in no time at all really. We had a car for the week but there is a great bus service provided and there is a stop just a stones throw from the house. Taxis are also plentiful and cheap. The main thing with the location though was it's proximity to Xaghra's village square, only about a 5 minute stroll away. We made use of the fantastic little restaurants that are there most evenings and were most lucky to visit the week before their annual festival. There was always something going on in the square and everyone was so happy and friendly. Sonja was great too even though we never met was a fantastic host and was extremely helpful - she was absolutely brilliant with any correspondence and pretty much replied to any emails in no time at all. All in all it made for an absolutely wonderful holiday and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Do yourself a favour, stop searching and book now! We loved Gozo and Sonja's home and promise we will be back soon! PS I could have carried on with this review and gushed about the home and holiday a lot longer but have ran out of available characters!!!!

A Secret Little Paradise

This amazing revamped old farmhouse, at walking distance of the centre of Xaghra, might go unnoticed at first sight. But when entering the house ... private pool with a terrace, a terrace on the roof and a terrace on the 1st floor! The character of the house is combined with contemporary touches of interior design. Plenty of space for unwinding, wining & dining. Very suitable for a relaxed holiday. And if you want to go for some trips (like Ramla Bay, Xlendi, Victoria, Marsalforn, ...): the house is near bus stops or a hired car brings you anywhere on the island within 10 to 20 minutes. And Xaghra's cosy little centre, with restaurants, bars, ... A perfect holiday hideway.

Perfect getaway at anytime of the year.

This house is a hidden gem, having never been to Gozo before I was curious to see what it had to offer and I wasn’t disappointed. The accommodation is wonderful, a modern take but compliments the traditional Maltase look the owners have a great eye. The rooms are very spacious, Wifi and the house has its own private pool. This beautiful farmhouse is located in the heart of Xaghra which is handy for shops, coffee shops, restaurants etc. It is also conveniently located to beach such as Ramla Bay if you fancy topping up the tan in addition to the main city of Victoria if you would like to do some shopping or visit the amazing Citadel. This island is full of historical locations I was there in mid June of last year so got a feel for the place in the sun which was fantastic but returned earlier this year when the temperature was still very pleasant and even though it would have been off season there was still plenty to do, place to explore. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful contemporary farmhouse in Gozo

Had a super time with my family enjoying the pool and relaxing reading my book on the terrace with a glass of wine. We didn't always feel like cooking dinner and the picturesque Xaghra square which has plenty of restaurants and bars is only a 5/10 min walk away. Would love to come back staying 2 weeks instead of 1!

Lovely relaxing holiday on Gozo

We had a lovely stay on Gozo. The farmhouse is fabulous and a lovely place to stay. It was very clean and even bigger than it looked in the photos. It is really close to the square in Xaghra and we had some great meals out - we found all of the restaurants on the square very good but our favourite was Latini. Tal Furnar which is just along the road from the farmhouse was also really good, serving traditional maltese food and their own wine - Tony and his wife were very welcoming. The farmhouse is also near to Ramla beach which is lovely. All in all, a great location. Sonja was very helpful before our stay with good advice on arranging a pick up from the airport which all went very smoothly and Frances met us on arrival at the house to show us how everything worked. A perfect place to stay in Xaghra!

Sonia´s house is a perfect spot for a family -or several adults to stay if you wish to enjoy the quite village life of Xaghra. The house is clean, nicely furnished and has all the equipment that you may need, and it is big! We lacked nothing! We travelled with teenagers and they had plenty of space to hide and a very well functioning Wi-fi (important when you travel with teens). Of the three terraces, the bottom one is what we used the most, with the pool area and BBQ-facilities. The mid terrace -if I were to give any recommendation, I would move the furnitures from and move up on the roof terrace which is the perfect place to watch the sunset and chill in the evenings. Bedrooms are huge and comfortable and generous portions of towels are provided. There is also a washing machine so you will never be out of either towels or clothes during your stay. Sonia is the perfect host -she provided us with lots of information about what to do, and not the least where to eat, which we really have used! Very nicely and always on stand by is also the neighbor, Frances, who is there to assist with all sorts of questions and practical matters.

Beautiful and very spacious Farmhouse modern vibe

Went for a wedding celebrating in Malta and decided to base our party on the beautiful Island of Gozo, the house exceeded my expectations, beautiful boutique style home with a nice sized pool. Really relaxed during the day by the pool and ate on the lovely Terrace in the evening when we stayed in. Great value shopping on the island. Plenty to do and great restaurants to visit. Our local haunt was D'venue on the main square minutes away from the farmhouse. Rented a car and explored the Island and beaches while sampling local restaurants. Plan to go back very soon.

An amazing place!

The house was such a great place to stay at and very central. Clean, comfortable and ample space for the kids to have fun too! The pool is fabulous and so is the roof top. The great decor and beautiful furniture make you feel at home. As soon as you open the door, you literally fall in love with the place! For me and my family this is with out a doubt the best place to relax and unwind. We Loved it and will be back!

Lovely Time!!!

Our party of four really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! We could chill around the pool or relax and dine with a glass of vino on the upstairs private terrace! The surroundings are so peaceful that it made it very easy for us to relax which was exactly what we were looking for! The amenities are very nearby and also Xaghra square has lots of nice restaurants and bars which was brilliant if we wanted to socialise a bit. If we felt like eating at home, we just turned on the gas BBQ and dined at the house! Will defo recommend this place to friends and family! Might come back again next year!

Was exactly what I had hoped for!

Was exactly what I had hoped for! A spacious house with open plan down stairs and plenty of spaces to sunbath, chill out for 6 people! We loved just gathering around the pool in the morning and afternoon having a BBQ and in the evening after a gorgeous dinner on the very nearby square we had a few night caps on the first floor terrace! From the roof top hot tub we could see Rambla beach but decided just to stay in the house using the comforts of a private pool! Jo was so helpful in arranging keys and showing us the house making us instantly welcome! Will defo recommend the house to my friends and colleagues

Fabulous holiday in Gozo

Our very first time in Gozo but definitely not our last! We really didn't know what to expect but what a pleasant surprise! The villa is situated in a quiet residential area, absolutely no noise in the evening time apart from us in the upstairs hot tub! The bubbly Xaghra village square is just a 5 minute stroll away with everything we needed. It was the ideal holiday for both peace and quiet and socializing on the nearby square or driving to the nearby beach….ahhh bliss! Looking into booking for next year!

A Real Gozo Haven

We had such a nice and relaxing time enjoying the sun, house and the quiet surroundings of picturesque Xaghra! To begin with, the house was wonderfully appointed and maintained. The whole house was very clean and in excellent condition and we were greeted by friendly Jo who showed us the house! He organized some basic food for us so we didn't need to go shopping the first day. The rooms were even more spacious than they appear on the website and the open plan on the ground level makes it really comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the pool and in the evening the hot tub on the roof. Although it is very quiet, the main Xaghra square is only a few minutes walk away with several really nice restaurants such as Dvenue and Oleander which we frequented on a regular basis getting to know the very friendly staff. We also stayed in a few nights using the BBQ and late night plunging which we thoroughly enjoyed! We enjoyed rummaging around the stalls in Victoria as well as going for some snorkling on Ramla beach. We hired out a boat for the day with Angelo who even organized a picnic and some vino…highly recommended to do the trip!

My dream holiday

We booked this villa based on the photos and it gave us all we wanted, you can just spend the day by the beautiful pool, sunbath, chill or use the gas bbq for some outdoor dining. When we didn't want to cook we could just stroll to the near by restaurants and bars based on the main square in Xaghra which we really liked. Especially at Dvenue and Oleander we enjoyed our food for very affordable prices

Not as we were led to believe...

I booked this vacation to celebrate a very important occasion. As such, I searched long & hard for the most suitable accommodation. On finding this listing, I contacted the owner direct to confirm that all was as per the listing. Owner confirmed (on more than one occasion) the validity of the advert & went out of her way to assure us that the farmhouse was wonderful. However, upon arrival, all was not as described. Firstly, the listing describes the house as being air conditioned. This is not the case. 2 b/rooms have a/c.The remainder of the house & the 3rd b/room are not a/c’ed. We were travelling with 2 older people & a young baby. A/C was a priority for us (given the heat & humidity in Malta/Gozo). I asked on no less than 3 occasions if the house was fully a/c & I was told yes. This was a great inconvenience to us as we could not use the 3rd b/room as intended. We also found the house quite warm during the day. If we had been advised appropriately, we feel we would have been in a better position to make an informed decision. I also specifically asked about the swimming pool area & whether or not the boundary walls shaded the sunshine. I was advised that this was not the case & that the sun shone there for the majority of the day. This was not true with the sun only being available for approx 1.5hr daily. Even at that it only shone on one sun bed over at the far corner of the pool. If you wanted to sunbath, you had to ascend the steep spiral staircase to the roof (very exposed). Normally, this would not have posed too much of an issue, but as mentioned, we were travelling with older people. The stairs were not ideal for them. Finally, the hot water was an issue (heated by solar panels). There was no hot water for 3 days (dull weather). Apparently the system should have activated to auto heat the water, but this was not the case (even after someone came out to look at it). In addition, the electricity went out twice as the trip switch kept tripping. When I contacted owner to express my upset considering the above & the impact that it had had on this rather special family celebration I was unhappy with how my concerns were addressed. At one point during the conversation I was told that it “wasn’t a hotel"& that I shouldn’t have needed A/C as she never used it. I felt that these comments were irrelevant & just added to the dissatisfaction. I will not be returning again & would not recommend these premises.
