"Excellent Hotel"
10-15 minute walk to town, meaning close enough, but far enough away. My room was great. Very comfortable bed. Also had a private balcony, which was nice. Their breakfast was very well done. Staff was great. Parking was easy. Note to management if they read this...my room had about 12 empty outlets to choose from, but not a single USB charger. Might be something to add/update the rooms.

"Comfortable close to town."
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking is a bit of an issue as only space for 5 cars, but plenty of road parking.

We stayed at LomondLodge before and after walking the Milford Track. What a wonderful find, from the time we walked into the reception the staff were wonderful and couldn't have done more for us, so so helpful. Close to shopping and restaurants. No complaints at all

"Nice apartments centrally located"
Stayed a couple of days and then returned after a trek. Staff were helpful and happy to store our gear. The two bedroom apartment suited perfectly for our family of four and the kitchenette was well resourced.

Nugget Point Queenstown Hotel - Arthur's Point Hotels

Nugget Point Queenstown Hotel

"Visit to Nugget Point Hotel 3 Night Stay."
Overall the Hotel is OK. However the room décor and facilities are clearly showing there age and neglect. The Bathroom facilities although adequate in our room. Looked very dated with signs of ware and tear evident in tiling, fixture and fittings. The shower was difficult to use and the mixer gave two extremes either scoldingly hot or very cold. The room had minimal facilities and no wine glass or beer glasses. Only two glass tumblers and two very small tea cups. No coffee mugs or bottle openers. We had to request wine glass and bottle openers for beer/wine from the front desk. The TV was a very old first generation flatscreen and was small. View in other rooms suggested other rooms had larger more recent model flatscreen TV's. The fridge contained only four tiny brown milk containers and not enough to use for an evening drink and a morning drink. The pillows were used and very soft, two pillows provided little support. The room information guide needs reviewing and updating...it references dial 700 for pretty much every service. We tried room services and dialled 700 and got the front desk person and when we asked for room service rudely told us you shouldn't be dialing 700....well how is a guest suppose to know this if there only information is the in room guide. The grounds appear neglected and run down and it clear no money has been spent on the exterior of the hotel.

"A holiday home rather than a hotel"
The Oaks Club is best described as a timeshare resort rather than an out and out hotel. That is not to demean it just to categorise it. Rooms are well-appointed both modern and simple. The location is a little out of town but we managed to walk it a couple of times and used the shuttle a couple of others. Couple that with the view - which was frankly one of the most stunning views out over the lake that I have seen in lots of trips around the world.

"Not bad stay in a beautiful place"
Nice quick check in, room is nice (if a little small). Somewhat obstructed view of amazing scenery out of my window, stunning. Thoughtful option to not have a turn-down service, for which you get money off food & beverage for each night you choose it. Hot water was patchy for the first couple of nights, but seemed to get fixed. Also, the pool/spa was out of order while I was there. Aside from that, easy checkout, helpful staff.

    Things to Do in Queenstown

Queenstown offers visitors an incredible amount of adventures to undertake during their stay in the area. As this resort town rests right on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, spend your holiday snorkelling and scuba diving, but also swimming with the local dolphins and seals. Yet there is still plenty to do during the cooler times of year as well. Skiing and snowboarding are wildly popular on Mt. Hutt and other surrounding slopes, while tourists and locals alike love wine tours to the nearby vineyards.

The Queenstown Gardens offers a glimpse at some of the country’s native plant and flower species, while the Kiwi Birdlife Park allows you to admire the various types of avian species found in this corner of New Zealand. Other natural attractions that you may want to include on your list of sights to see include Milford Sound, which offers unparalleled views of Fiordland National Park, and Skippers Canyon, a massive gorge that holds a surprising amount of history. The Remarkables mountain range is another popular draw for avid trekkers, as is the world-famous Routeburn Track, which starts at the Southern Alps and concludes at the Divide, located not far from Homer Tunnel.

    Weather in Queenstown

Due to its relatively high altitude and location amid the mountains, Queenstown enjoys an oceanic climate that creates comfortable temperatures in the summer, and reasonably mild winters. During the summer months, thermometers may occasionally climb to a steamy 30 degrees Celsius, though the mercury mostly stays in the low- to mid-20s. Winter, conversely, can get rather cold with average temperatures hovering around 5 degrees, though they sometimes dips below zero. It is common to see snow falling during these cooler times, but the white stuff rarely sticks around long enough to result in any actual accumulation, except on the nearby mountaintops.
