Fantastic location and quiet as well. The staff were friendly and very helpful. While the unit we stayed in was older it was very clean and furnishings were modern and comfortable.

"Nice hotel, a quick taxi ride into town Centre "
A nice hotel, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The bar area was a little sparse and a limited beer selection (no craft beers). The spa pool was tiny which was dissapointing as I was looking forward to a hot soak after a day skiing - had to settle for a simple bath. A nice hotel overall, but next time I will pay a little more and stay closer to town.

"Gorgeous view.."
Cute little villa although it is showing its age. Bathroom was... gross. It was very small and outdated. There was no heating in the bathroom, so we literally froze in the middle of winter! The villa itself was quite spacious and comfortable except that the heating (or lack of it!) was absolutely terrible. We actually had to hire an extra heater to keep the room warm. Also the beams were filthy, we tried to hang our snow gear up but found the beams were covered (caked!) in dust. We could see in the other villas, people had done the same, so we just assumed we would be able to o it too. The view was beautiful, overlooking the snow capped mountains.

"Nice place close to town center"
The location is really good as it's hard to park at the town center and you can park in the motel and take a 10 min walk to town. Staff is accommodative and friendly. Room cleaning may not be up to standard most probably just change of towels and make your bed sheets as the table top was still dirty afterwards.

"Excellent view from hotel balcony"
This hotel is in a hillside location. The view from the hotel balcony is amazing. The only unpleasant experiences I had were that the hotel jumbled up my name in their booking system (ie. my middle name became my last name & my last name became my first name) & they also automatically assumed the customer making a room reservation a male.

Surrounded by rivers and mountains, this South Island destination is also rich with possibilities for downhill mountain biking, sky diving, hiking, river rafting, and more. Whether you are travelling alone or with family and friends, Queensland serves up adventure on a silver platter.

    Things to Do in Queenstown

Queenstown offers visitors an incredible amount of adventures to undertake during their stay in the area. As this resort town rests right on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, spend your holiday snorkelling and scuba diving, but also swimming with the local dolphins and seals. Yet there is still plenty to do during the cooler times of year as well. Skiing and snowboarding are wildly popular on Mt. Hutt and other surrounding slopes, while tourists and locals alike love wine tours to the nearby vineyards.

The Queenstown Gardens offers a glimpse at some of the country’s native plant and flower species, while the Kiwi Birdlife Park allows you to admire the various types of avian species found in this corner of New Zealand. Other natural attractions that you may want to include on your list of sights to see include Milford Sound, which offers unparalleled views of Fiordland National Park, and Skippers Canyon, a massive gorge that holds a surprising amount of history. The Remarkables mountain range is another popular draw for avid trekkers, as is the world-famous Routeburn Track, which starts at the Southern Alps and concludes at the Divide, located not far from Homer Tunnel.

    Weather in Queenstown

Due to its relatively high altitude and location amid the mountains, Queenstown enjoys an oceanic climate that creates comfortable temperatures in the summer, and reasonably mild winters. During the summer months, thermometers may occasionally climb to a steamy 30 degrees Celsius, though the mercury mostly stays in the low- to mid-20s. Winter, conversely, can get rather cold with average temperatures hovering around 5 degrees, though they sometimes dips below zero. It is common to see snow falling during these cooler times, but the white stuff rarely sticks around long enough to result in any actual accumulation, except on the nearby mountaintops.
