This is the first negative review we’ve ever written and I hate being “that person”. But we were pretty disappointed with our stay, given the “full price” for a Lake View Room that’s normally charged, - we expected a lot more.
The rooms are not sound-proofed, we could hear literally everything happening on both sides of us including people going to the toilet, snoring, tv’s, phone’s ringing etc. (We asked if we could be moved but were told they were fully booked).
The bathrooms are outdated with very little hot water pressure and have individual cylinders so it’s very easy to run out especially if 2 of you are showering. We found the beds to be uncomfy, they were very bouncy with little padding on the mattress. In the end we started sleeping in separate beds just so we wouldn’t keep disturbing each other from the simple act of rolling over.
The cooked breakfast is $25 per person and is super basic, with bacon, eggs, hash browns and mushrooms the only ‘hot’ things offered - except they were cold at 8am when we tried to eat and when we asked if fresh items were being prepared we were told no because there isn’t many people staying (after being told they were fully booked the night before!)
While the hotel had nice staff and was no doubt luxurious 20 years ago (and is in a lovely spot), for us the noise you can hear from the other rooms alone would stop us from going back. You would be better spending less and getting a decent cabin at the camp ground.
