Places to see in Hunter Valley

The Newcastle Memorial Walk, which pays homage to ANZAC’s arrival at Gallipoli, connects Strzelecki Lookout to nearby Bar Beach by means of a half-kilometre walkway around the edge of a cliff. You can also trek to the top of Tomaree Head, a wooded mountain that overlooks Port Stephens, as well as the Boondelbah and Cabbage Tree islands. Hunter Valley is also a hot destination for avid cyclists, who can pedal over to Deadman’s Mountain Bike Loop, which isn’t nearly as daunting as its name would lead you to believe.
