Towels

We stayed 2 nights at Tangalooma but could just get towels for one day. New once for the second day would have cost extra ☹️ Would be nice to get clean once for the nights depending on the days you stay.

Ideal for 3–day stay with grandchild - room basic but adequate - plenty to do if you’re willing to pay - food options a bit limited - room service non existent but your told that if you read the fine print -

Chips and more chips

Staff are enormously friendly but the menu choices are limited and often run out. I think only one or two dishes come without chips. Could use a couple more options. Outlook is beautiful beach is clean and accessible to most.

Tangalooma Island resort boasts one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited. Crystal clear waters, beautiful sandy beach, plenty of activities to keep everyone amused. However, what has impressed me the most is the wonderful friendly staff. Only thing that needs improvement is the selection of dining options. Pretty much limited to Asian or the pub meals.

The food was the biggest let down unfortunately. It was a full week of takeaway food. You need to be able to hire a villa that has a kitchen and bring your own food. So many WH&S hazards around the island, ie low hanging cords (at head height), boxes covering dangerous tripping hazards, other hazards not roped off ie large drains

Tangalooma is a beautiful resort on Moreton Island, which unfortunately does not come with any inclusions. Everything is an additional charge. Want to play volleyball? A charge to hire. Want some shade on the beach? $30 to hire a cabana. The beach is beautiful and the resort is really well maintained, clean and relaxed. The food options are lacking, and the only restaurant style option is SO expensive. We probably wont be coming back.

Room looks nothing like what was advertised. No beech view, old rundown bathroom, black hair everywhere (on towels, through the bed, all over the floor), very dusty as well and lots of spiderwebs. Had to give the place a once over as we have a toddler touching everything. Location of the car park was a fair hike away, so you wouldn’t want to forget anything in your room because it would take you a good 10 minutes to go get it. The smoke alarms are in the most stupid position as they were right above where you cooked, but no venting to help prevent it. So you were constantly setting them off, even if you had all the doors open. Was very disappointed with paying $940 for 3 nights. Expected a lot more with the money we paid and photos shown on the property. In saying all of this the location of the accommodation was great, the beds were very comfortable and staff was great.

I love everything about the resort except the room where we stay very noise, we can hear noise come from room on both sides and upstairs downstairs. Plumbing noise when people turn on water. Can’t really relax with the noise when we stay in the room.

Commercial resort popular with families and school parties Our K block room was smart and recently renovated with great views out to see. Food was very cafeteria like. Fried and little healthy options. Oriental restaurant was better. The activities and excursions are its positives. Enjoyed sunset trip to the wreck. The snorkelling along the reef was exciting, if challenging, given the strong current and hidden sunken wrecks, just below the surface. Dolphin feeding has become too busy. There must have been nearly 100 people queueing up on the beach for two seconds, feeding a fish to this enormous wild animal. It’s still a surreal experience however. Sadly the trips to view the rest of the island and it scenery were not available, which was very disappointing. Would have booked a different time and worth planning them ahead and it was a key element we wished to do.

The food service was quick & efficient with good portion sizes! Room was comfortable & very quiet even in the middle of the day with lots of people outside the room was still fairly quiet surprisingly. The customer service at front desk over phone could use some work in manners & focus to helping the customer as best as possible - very short, clueless & rude answers with no solution tips or effort to solve or help. Otherwise the stay was 100% worth every minute & dollar!

What an amazing location! The beach is stunning and the wildlife is incredible. Sunsets were something special! Very close to Brisbane and easy to get to. Very comfortable rooms with great views. Lots of activities to keep everyone entertained. Not a huge range of dining options on Mondays and Tuesdays but we were only staying a couple of nights so that was ok. A friend and I spent a couple of days at Tangalooma Island Resort recently. Tangalooma is on Moreton Island which is off the coast of Brisbane. The Tangalooma Island Ferry is the normal means of transport to and from the island, about a 75 minute ride and it runs multiple times each day. The resort has many accommodation choices, many venues for food and drinks, and many options across a wide range of activities. In our case it was just unwinding for a couple of days, doing nothing much at all, and Tangalooma provided exactly what we were after. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful, and we'd like to say a special thank you to Dante from B&B's Bar, for his excellent service and always with a welcoming smile.

Sunsets, birds and dolphins

This is a beautiful island and there is a lot of stunning birds, and of course the gorgeous dolphins that arrive every night. Many tours are available (some only if they have a group of 6 people) and there are options for kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling, jet skiing etc. We joined a snorkelling trip around the wrecks but it was quite busy with too many people at once (many of whom could not snorkel very well). We did see a sting ray, but the trip felt a bit rushed and chaotic. We loved the Northern Safari tour and our guide Adam was great - down to earth, friendly and happy. Food on the island is ok. There are two options - a Chinese restaurant and pub food. The Chinese restaurant was tasty and some of the bar food (pizzas) not bad, but definitely overpriced. Many people take food with them and there are BBQs around the resort that can be used. Most staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.
