Great little hot with olde world charm. Thursday is steak night with all the trimmings and a pint for £15, amazing value!! All perfece cooked. Probably the best steak I have had! Nice range of ales and great service.
Room was a little small, but it was adequate for the first be night stay.
Generally clean but nothing too special.
Would go back.
Pub meal was excellent. We had the steak and can thoroughly recommend it!
Friendly and helpful staff, and allowed us an early check in to the room early as we were going to a wedding. Room was rather small and only had a skylight, no "proper" window but we didn't spend much time in the room. Small shower room, but the shower itself was great. Good breakfast.

The room was very damp.
Mould in the shower and over the walls in the bathroom.
It was a pub so noise is expected but the music did get louder as the evening went on so unable to hear the TV.
Kitchen area for getting coffee and toast was very dirty although the breakfast was nice.
Stop over for long journey home from Cornwall, stayed in a family room - 1 adult & 2 kids but given 1single & 1double. Was ok but not ideal. Room was dusty & in need of good clean under beds & behind furniture, hanging cobwebs. The shower door was hanging off although could still use. Decor very drab which added to dated feel of the room. Whilst the beds were comfy the pillows were flat. Lots of tea & coffee supplied, great tv with choices for kids. Had an evening meal, food was great although had to move as from garden as the language from younger drinkers was a shocker and the kids felt v uncomfortable hearing it. Not really an issue with the owners but a local pub with a young crowd so something to be mindful of if travelling with kids. Overall we enjoyed our stay, owners were lovely as was the food, and ok value for money.

Shower point blank did not even turn on in my room, pillows were basically empty pillow cases and the mattress so thin I could feel each individual slat of timber through the mattress, worst spent 65 pounds of my life.
Great friendly staff. Very welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Good wholesome food at a very reasonable price.
Good wi-fi easy parking outside after 5pm
Great welcome, staff very friendly large comfortable room, nice and clean. Pub wasn’t doing food on Sunday.evening but said we could get a takeaway and eat in the pub. Although we eat at the Nog Inn just down the road. The breakfast the next morning was superb
Very clean, tidy & well presented room. The bathroom maybe a little bit dated, but clean and everything worked well. Lots of hot water, which is always a great thing! The pub areas are well-used and busy, a typical busy pub atmosphere. The food is hearty, well prepared and tasty, and the beer well-kept. Excellent buffet breakfast with delicious bacon, sausages and choice of healthier options if you preferred. The staff, I couldn't praise enough for their friendly helpfulness. The Dolphin isn't the most modern, or the best equipped hotel, but it is clean, friendly and offers good food. I enjoyed my stay very much and will definitely stay again if I'm in the area.
Lovely old inn with friendly staff and good food. Comfortable beds and breakfast was really good, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely visit and stay again.
Friendly staff ,clean room ,comfy bed . And a very nice breakfast ,decent sausage and bacon. It was all self-service ,but ideal for what we needed .pleasant stay 😁
