Rustic romantic log cabin near crater of diamonds
Come take a step back in time and relax in our 186 year old log cabin. It is an authentic historic structure with added modern conveniences. Whether it's a quiet evening on the porch, a dip in the pool at night under the stars, or coffee with the animals, you are sure to enjoy your stay at our farm as you experience life in a cabin as it might have been in the early 1800's. Our historic cabin can sleep 2 comfortably. There is a queen size bed (remember folks, those big beds didn't exist back then), but ours is comfortable! The sleeping arrangement is one bed in the main area of the cabin. The cabin features a full kitchen and quaint bathroom with a modern shower and a period pedestal sink. As a guest at our farm, feel free to roam around. The entire farm is yours. You may enjoy the pool between 10 AM - 10 PM, mingle with the animals or relax on the porch of your cabin. I am on the property pretty much all the time. Depending on the preference of our guests, I have spent the whole experience by the pool with some and have not seen others. A heavy continental breakfast (Farm fresh egg and cheese strata, a homemade pastry, farm fresh yogurt, and orange juice) is served either in your cabin, or at poolside (weather permitting) for $12 per guest. We love your fur babies, and they are more than welcome at Coulter Farmstead. We charge an additional fee of $25 per pet per night. Coulter Farmstead is a luxurious, rustic, and historic farmstead located in Washington, Arkansas that features four log cabins dating to the 1840's and a unique barn loft over an actual working barn that have been painstakingly renovated, as well as an 1860's antebellum Greek Revival home situated on 11 acres with an 1880's historic mercantile. Coulter Farmstead is located on the edge of Washington State Park "Old Washington" located just a few miles from Hope and Texarkana. Our property is authentic and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Come relax in one of the cabins or barn loft, experience unique shopping in the historic mercantile, or have the perfect intimate wedding anywhere outside on this beautiful property. Whichever you decide, our farmstead is the picture of rustic beauty. It is our hope that you and your guests will feel comfortable and right at home whatever the occasion, as you make memories to cherish for a lifetime. At Coulter Farmstead, drink in the simple, peaceful pleasures of farm life with just the sounds of nature as your backdrop. Experience a gentler way of life in a place where we describe porch sitting, book reading and coffee drinking as an activity. A farm fresh, heavy continental breakfast with a scrumptious cheese strata souffle' with fresh eggs from the family chickens, farm fresh homemade yogurt, a pastry and seasonal juice is available to guests in their cabins.

Everything about the cabin, farmstead, and hosts was wonderful! The cabin was cozy...perfect for a romantic getaway. The breakfast we had each morning was delicious as well. It is my hope that we will be ble to stay again in the future!
We had an excellent stay! The cabin was as described and very comfortable. The surrounding farmstead provided a very relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay at this establishment again.
Beautiful property with charming touches and hosts. As a mother traveling along with children I felt absolutely safe and at peace. Kids loved the pool and animals. Breakfast was great!
Justice and Katie were great hosts. The cabin was so cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was awesome! We enjoyed swimming in the pool, looking at the stars late at night and seeing all the farm animals. We plan to visit again .
Very well manicured grounds. Very tidy and clean. We were not able to spend as much time as we would like due to other commitments. But overall it was great. Would recommend for anyone needing peace and relaxation.
If rustic beauty, farm animals, peace & serenity are what you need this is the PLACE! We loved everything from the moment we drove up, Katie greeted us, directed where to go & where things were located. The cabin was perfect, a mix of the old with new modern amenities…like air conditioning 😊 Breakfast was amazingly delicious, fresh and hot and delivered to our cabin at our preferred time. We were able to freely enjoy the animals on the farm & give them treats. The pool was very nice and we enjoyed a great convo with Katie. We plan on going back in November because our two nights were not enough time to fully enjoy this little slice of heaven!
The Rynders Cabin, at Coulter Farmstead, was a very unique experience!! I would describe Rynders Cabin as "romantic, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing". It is a place to go if one is looking to de-stress. If I was a writer, this would be the place I would definitely want to go to write. The fireplace in the cabin was a definite plus; although, you can only burn fire logs (not firewood), and you need to leave the cabin clean to a certain degree according to renter's policy. I spent most of my time in awe of the construction of this very old cabin built in the mid-1800’s in historic Washington, Arkansas, State Park. There is no hustle and bustle within the park. The population here, at the time, was only 180. It is definitely worth Googling the historic buildings, which are many, in this small area. The must see, within the park, is the 180-year-old magnolia tree. My main purpose, for this trip, was to go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park which is only 40 minutes away. The drive is beautiful!
This was the most unique wonderful place I have ever stayed. And I was a flight attendant for several years! It was cozy and quiet and had everything we needed. I highly recommend if you are close, stope and stay with the Wests at Coulter Farmstead. Old Washington is a wonderful historical place and staying at Coulter Farmstead was truely the cherry on top!
Very sweet and cozy. Friendly and farm animals were fun. Beautiful property.

Quiet and convenient to Washington park
I stayed for my week long class at the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing. The cabin is rustic with just enough upgrades for comfort. I appreciated the wifi and the kitchenette allowed me to prepare meals.I will definitely stay again.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet few days to catch up on rest without distractions.
The cozy cottage nestled under bare trees was perfect. We walked through the town of Washington, Hope and Murfreesboro. The residents of these areas are some of the most polite people I have ever met.
The community of Washington Arkansas has gone to great lengths to reserve this historic town. Thank you so much for such a pleasant experience!
I will be talking about this property for a long time.
Also, loved the property animals.

Wonderful place to stay!
I really enjoyed my time at the cabin! The Coulter Farmstead is a very unique place to stay. I was there to work the local festival. At the end of the day, I very much appreciated the quietness and peacefulness the property offered. The breakfast tray that was brought out was wonderful each morning. Can't say enough about the hospitality and good conversation from the host. We definitely will be back!
We are frequent VRBO travelers and would have to say Coulter Farmstead ranks in the top tier of every category you would rate a vacation rental. The place was cozy and the owners were nice and very welcoming. The place was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. You are close enough to a city but far enough out to feel like you’re away from everything. Communication with the staff was the best I have had at any vacation rental. The breakfast they offer was worth the money. This place receives the highest recommendation from our family.

For us, 2 seniors, the lack of stair railing and comfortable place to put your feet up after 9 hours of driving was an issue. Not a HUGE issue becausewe wereonly thereone night, but would have made us more comfortable.
Absolutely great breakfast! Sweet host.

enjoyed our stay
What an experience - staying in an authentic log cabin! The history in this area is awesome and the restored town of Washington, AR is just up the hill from this old farmstead. The Arkansas State Park of Historic Washington made for a memorable stay as well. We enjoyed the old tavern for good home cooked meals. Brad has done a wonderful job of bringing new life into this old property and shared the history of his place. We would recommend staying here if you enjoy a laid back, no hurry kind of setting. Something you can't find just anywhere! A. Nolan
Our daughter was in great need to get a way for a weekend to recharge. This was the perfect place. With the beautiful farm surroundings she was able to sight see all day in the neighboring State Parks then back to the adoption cabin to relax. She loved visiting with the animals spending time in the pool and chatting with Bradley the owner off the property. Every need was met, except for she found no diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park☹️ Can’t blame Bradley for that!!
She looks forward to visiting again.
Thanks Bradley
