Its name refers to the Greek origins of the city that Pindaro calls "worthy sister of Delos", the island of the Cyclades, originally called Ortigia, being like the Ortigia of Sicily abundant of quails, "Orteghes" in Ancient Greek, and then Delos, "the one that appears bright", after Latona gave her the gift of prosperity, to have there birth Apollo and Artemis..
