Nice rooms. Walking distance to grocery store and restaurants, even the beach is a nice walk. The breakfast was over and above my expectations. Thank you. The staff were great.

This was my second time staying at the Wyndham Hotel in Playa del Carmen, and overall, I had a pleasant experience once again. The location is fantastic, and the staff remains welcoming and friendly. However, I did notice that the bathroom curtains looked quite old, with visible stains and a bit of mold. Additionally, the towels looked quite old and yellowish. Aside from these areas for improvement, my overall experience was enjoyable.

The property is overdue for maintenance. Rooms are outdated and you can see walls in the room in poor conditions. The curtain and the hooks in the bathroom totally rusty, pretty ugly. The towels too, MUST be replaced they're in pretty bad shape. Breakfast is good and the restaurant personnel was super attentive and courteous. Especially Lupe and Gerardo, not to mention the Chef

Good location. The hotel is not that far from the beach/ferry. I like that it was quiet and that it included a hot breakfast. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. The only thing I did not like was the moldy smell in my room. I brought that smell with me home :/

Solo trip

The staff was very friendly. There is a lot of people that use the breakfast. You may be in a lineup to get in if they’re doing a tour. Iowa State here before and it is a little ways away from everything. The rooms could use some upgrades.

As soon as we open the room to the room a roach came crawling out. Then the shower was soapy and when water would be turn on, it would not drain properly. Also, for laundry you have to be on a schedule to use washer and dryer, it would be nice to have at least one washer/dryer that you don’t have to be in schedule as we didn't have the time for that. Food was edible.

The staff was very polite and helpful. I picked this hotel because I was told they had handicapped accomodations. Raised toilet seat etc. I was not given any handicapped accomodations. I cannot walk well and there was no food on the property in the evening. It was a far walk for me to anywhere in the area.

The location of the hotel is very convenient if you want to travel around and have a rental car. In general we had a nice stay, however our room was very basic, room was nice and spacious, but lacked little amenities or services that I was expecting. To make myself clear, this is a good hotel, but has way too much room for improvement. My room was rather large in size, however we did not have a sitting area, there was only a desk and a desk chair, most hotels have a nice chair/sofa for you to sit down and get dress or relax. We did not have a safe, nor a hair dryer. We had to ask the front desk to get a luggage rack and an ice bucket. I was not expecting resort level services, but I was certainly expecting the basic amenities to get a nice sleep and the room equipped to comfortably be able to get a good night sleep, and to have the resources to cleanup comfortably and keep my valuables safe. Not so bad, but could improve.

Walkable from the ferry for the motivated person. Budget friendly, and I got a significant discount online 2 days prior to arrival via Expedia. Staff were very helpful and let me check in early because there was another room available. They let us eat breakfast the morning we arrived and there were options that were like lunch (pasta and meat) so that was our lunch for the day (breakfast goes to 11 am). Excellent breakfast options such as eggs, pasta, meat, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, jello, chips and toppings. Workout facility clean and has a variety of cardio and dumbbells. Rooms were a bit stark but we were just staying the night. No mini fridge.

The property itself was not bad. The rooms were of a good size. It was the dressing of the rooms. Towels were old, stained and had holes. Shower curtain was hanging literally by threads. Sheets and covers were old and stained. Curtains and furniture had paint stains and paint drops on them. Furniture was old and losing its veneer layers. Staff did what they could with what they were given.

Plumbing issues, reported early in morning to reception, theybtold me maintenace will address asap. Did not happen, so i had to leave and left my luggage at reception appx. 9am. They said, i cannot get a new room until 3pm at normal checkin. Go figure the logic. I could not wait to debate, was already late for doctor appt. Got back at 2.30, provided a new room and they really thought they we doing me a great service.
