Not clean but great location
It's interesting to me that after multiple reviews talking about the problems with cleanliness, that the host hasn't changed anything. I took a risk after reading those reviews due to the great location of this property but the previous complaints were accurate. I did not find the check in process to be difficult at all like some reviewers did (the host provided pictures of the lockbox and the apartment door) but the stairwell is filthy and the apartment is seriously in need of a deep clean. It's an old building so I don't want to make my judgement based on the apartment just being old. But the upstairs bedroom was pretty gross. The dust and hair had just been swept under the bed. There was dirt and hair on all the floors, the lamp shade in the downstairs bedroom had multiple stains on it, and the cup in the bathroom (presumably to hold toothbrushes) had layers of toothpaste inside of it. These are just a few examples. The sheets looked clean so we stayed just one night but I would not return. I really hope the owner responds to all the negative reviews by cleaning the apartment because the location is really great.

To many stairs and only hot water in the shower
To start their with their are 47 stairs to get to the 4th story apartment. And the check in is very confusing. I tried the key in 4 different doors before we found it. Just glad no one opened the door when I tried the unlocked it. I wish the apartment was cleaner. There is no living room so it was hard to sit and visit with people with out being in someone’s bedroom. Great location. Just don’t think I would stay there again. Please if you can’t do stay here is you can’t do stairs. Oh and the shower was burning hot and only had hot water so it was very hard to take a shower with out burning your self. And I felt the place could have been cleaner. And the pots were rusty so it was hard to cook food.

Great Location
Great location, especially if you’re looking to tour the historical part of Philadelphia. Only 10 minute walk to the ferry if you’re going to Camden for a concert. Only negative was the shower only had one temp, which was HOT! Also, be prepared to walk a lot of stairs.

This property is right next to Ben Franklin's house. It is only two blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The location was perfect to learn about history.

Location was good. No elevator, had to walk up. There are three different key boxes on the front of the building so not clear which was for our place. There were no directions regarding which apartment it was once we got to the 4th floor. Beds are small and uncomfortable. Floors were dirty. Definitely cannot walk around bare foot. There is no common area to sit in. Just a kitchen with stools and 2 bedrooms.

Awful place. Couldn’t take showers water steamy hot!!
First thing, is checking, he can’t figure out which master lock to use, and sure there’s stairs in notes in the listing, but it doesn’t say there’s monstrous stairs and steep awful. When we got there, there’s old gluten-free rolls in the cabinet, no ice or ice trays to make ice, One roll of toilet paper, couldn’t keep the air low enough. It was hot, the listing mentioned that it was complementary coffee. There was no coffee, the curtains in the downstairs bedroom are too short, so the sun comes shining in blaring in first thing in the morning, And the worst disastrous we couldn’t even take a shower. The water was so hot any direction we rolled it around folded forward switched it back steaming hot we couldn’t take a shower. It was just an awful awful experience. Awful awful place. The only thing it has going for it is location. It’s on market Street awful.
