Staying at Casa Papagaio was a truly amazing experience. The property manager was quick to respond to WhatsApp questions. It’s fairly remote so finding it was challenging and cell service limited so interacting with the property manager tricky when out of cell range. But, it was well worth the effort to locate Casa Papagaio because the cliff views and serenity are unparalleled. The fresh eggs and produce were delightful. I would not suggest this property for preschool children as the cliff is quite steep.

Extremely disappointing - property misrepresented and uninhabitable - would not stay again. I rarely write negative reviews, but our week-long stay at this Azores villa was so far below acceptable standards that I feel compelled to warn future travelers.Major issues included a power outage that lasted 5 consecutive days and left us without lighting, refrigeration, or phone charging. This caused 200 worth of food to go bad and the issue was never resolved. One of the swimming pools and the plunge pool were unusable with filthy algae water. The grill and sauna were both inoperable. There was mildew in some of the bathrooms and an ant infestation in the kitchen. The property manager lives off-island and could only offer remote support, so nothing was resolved during our stay. The host has been unresponsive since and has not offered any acceptable compensation.Avoid this property. Basic safety, cleanliness, and advertised amenities were far below par.
