A great location with public transport at the door. A heritage building so not a lot the new managers can do to the overall building however they are actively looking to improve the facilities with recently renovated showers/toilets etc.
Free breakfast each day is a bonus (especially with the pancakes - yum!) and lots of mid-week activities to get involved in. Only complaint here is that the b/fast only opens around 8am so if you want an early start you miss out.
The common areas including kitchen, dining, toilets etc. are cleaned daily by contractors. The staff are really friendly and someone is at reception 24/7 to assist. A bar, TV room (Netflix), rooftop BBQ area and games areas (pool table, board games etc) round out the facilities with an in-house travel desk as well.
Lots of different accommodation alternatives from shared dorms to en-suite rooms complete the picture. I stayed in a 6 share dorm initially and then upgraded to a 2 bed room with own TV! Free WiFi included (of course).
Talking with fellow travellers the common theme is that this is one of the best and most friendly places they have stayed. Glad I decided to stay here and have made some (hopefully) long term new friends.
