5BR Cozy Victorian - Jacuzzi - Group Friendly
Summary: Stunning 5 bed, 4.5 bath Grand Victorian for up to 12 guests (sorry, no pets) in downtown Leadville!
Managed by @TraverseHospitality
The Space: Named after the world`s largest palace of ice built in Leadville in 1896, this home takes you back to the lavish Victorian era following Lake County`s mining boom. Stunningly maintained and furnished, it now offers modern comfort and amenities alongside the antiques. Twelve guests have ample room to spread out between five bedrooms, four and a half baths, formal and informal sitting and dining rooms, a breakfast nook, and fully updated kitchen. There are three king beds, one queen bed, and three twin beds—two of which have trundles, while the third does not. A fireplace and a large jetted tub are sure to please on a snowy winter`s evening. WiFi and TV`s are available for 21st century entertainment, or you could gather for a rousing game of cards. The Ice Palace sits just two blocks from Harrison Ave, in a neighborhood where some of the town`s most successful pioneers built to impress. You`ll also be a short stroll to Ice Palace Park and the Mineral Belt Trail. No matter the occasion, staying at this Leadville landmark will leave you with memories to treasure!

Guest Access: Guests have access to their private home.
The Neighborhood: There’s no end to the outdoor activities you can enjoy here, from mild scenic hikes to ultra-athletic pursuits, and we’re not limited by season. Head out on a fall colors bike ride, ski or snowshoe, go fly fishing, or climb the fourteeners! And as for the great indoors, we have plenty of restaurants, shops and historical attractions.
Getting Around: Leadville is a very walkable city, and this home is in the heart of downtown. Free on-street parking is included.
Other Things to Note: This property is licensed through the City of Leadville, License #001322

Bedrooms: 5 Baths: 4.5 Levels: 3 WiFi: Yes TV: Yes, Dish Washer/Dryer: Yes Dishwasher: Yes Fireplace: Gas Grill: Yes, gas Views: Mountains, Town Yard: Fenced Hot tub: No Garage: No Parking: Although not guaranteed, this home has room for approximately two cars to be parked in front of it. Leadville’s Victorian homes were historically built quite close together in the days before the “horseless carriage.” As such, parking can sometimes be a challenge. In the winter, maintaining an open parking space can cost homeowners a significant amount of money and/or hours spent shoveling. Please take these things into consideration as you plan your trip, and be courteous to your local neighbors by trying to park directly in front of the home you have rented.
Staying in the mountains offers a unique and nature-immersed experience, characterized by a rustic charm. You might occasionally encounter some of the local wildlife, insects, and small critters that are part of the natural surroundings. We recommend keeping doors securely closed whenever possible. Rest assured, we've implemented thorough measures to ensure your stay remains undisturbed by these natural inhabitants.
Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We cannot offer refunds for guests experiencing altitude sickness. If you anticipate being affected, we recommend obtaining insurance at the time of booking.

Chose to stay here for a weekend family getaway with my siblings and their family visiting from Japan. The house was excellent and exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend it, and we are strongly considering staying again if we stay in Leadville again.
This is the second time that our 2 families have stayed at this property. It's the perfect set up with plenty of beds and bathrooms to go around. Our children particularly love the corner sofa off the kitchen to watch the NCAA basketball tournament!Selfishly, an improvement we would love to see, but is certainly not a big deal, would be a crockpot for meals to cook while we're skiing and a blender for shakes in the morning.
The I e Palace is a great place to stay for a large family. The multiple rooms are perfect with bathrooms for everyone. The top floor showers are for small people but the two spa tubs are perfect after a long day on the ski slopes.
The home is historically beautiful.
Thank you.
This house was exactly what we needed for our family getaway. It’s so welcoming and plenty of room. The host was so kind! I did have to call a couple of times with questions and (I can’t remember her name) she was so helpful and kind. We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning!
The house was as described. We were a group of 9, ranging in age from 8 to 77. Plenty of room for all. The house was nicely decorated in the Victorian style of the home. Wish there would have been a history of the home somewhere to read. The only issue was there was no window covering on one of the second floor bedroom windows and no information on where to deposit garbage and recycling when we were ready to leave. All in all a very nice house.
What a beautiful, quirky house. The space in this old victorian has been utilized to its best. We were all charmed by it when we walked in the door! The water pressure in the showers was better than expected in a house this age. The multiple tables allowed us space to eat, space for a puzzle and space for games. The home is an easy walk to town. Twin Lakes is a 25 minute drive that is worth doing. Turquoise Lake is nearby too and also worth going to. We enjoyed dinner at Quincy's. Ice Cream downtown was delicious. A great stay in a beautiful, well equipped house.
