Fantastic upstairs / filthy downstairs and outside
Most disappointing VRBO thus far! Both urine and blood stains on blankets in bedrooms. Bedroom carpets made our socks dirty! Upstairs balcony rotten with rails that felt as if they could give easily. Dirty rolled up carpet and used/filthy AC filter stacked near front door. Back yard a hazard with downed pine limbs, unspooled hoses, tarps...a remodel of upstairs was great...I highly recommend staying somewhere else. I contacted the owning company, sent photos of urine/blood/all else. Received 10+ "I'm so sorry" responses. I asked for compensation. They refunded OUR CLEANING DEPOSIT of $255 only...the very minimum they should have done. I wish I could include photos here as it would provide proof of my concerns with this property.

Summer vacation
Do not rent this property! Great location and could be a good rental but not unit is not maintained. Upstairs shower leaked into downstairs bedroom flooding bed. Queen bed frame broken. Bunk bed unstable and railings not attached (on floor). Many other maintenance issues less significant items. Poorly stocked kitchen - 2 wine glasses, 2 coffee cups, no trash bags, no wraps/bags, ancient toaster over. It’s a shame as location is great and the issues should not take that much effort/money to make right but based on previous similar reviews unlikely property will improve. Local property management to their credit fixed the bed and said they would credit part of the rental payment for the totality of issues.

Very very bad mattress, broken & dirty BBQ and not usable backyard.
We stayed for 3 nights in this place. While the master bedroom has a good mattress (soft enough for most sleepers), the queen mattress in the 2nd bedroom is like a rock. So firm you will have a very hard time falling asleep. If you finally sleep, you will wake up with backpain the next day. The BBQ on the balcony is very dirty, half broken and was not usable. We were looking forward to grill some steaks but decided against it, we did not want to invest hours of cleaning it. The backyard is not maintained at all and therefore was not usable. Dirty and no chairs or tables etc. Overall the house was clean, however we washed all kitchenware before using it, you never know. The bathrooms were clean and there were enough towels and soap etc. We did not find any detergent for the washer, which would have been good to use, we were traveling with an infant. For the price we paid for 3 nights we expected top notch, which was unfortunately not the case. Sleep is very important during vacation and we did not get much quality sleep because of the very bad/old mattress in one of the bedrooms, that is why I give 3 stars overall.

Would not choose again.
First of all, I do not remember reading anything about the number of stairs involved in this rental. We had to carry all of our luggage, etc up two flights outside which was a pain with the snow. I also got a huge splinter in my hand as well as a few smaller ones trying to hold unto the wooden railing on the way up as it was in disarray. I learned to always have thick gloves on when I went up and down outside stairs after that but it was painful and ruined my first day of vacation. Once we got inside we discovered that the bedrooms were all downstairs so we now had to carry all our luggage down another long flight of stairs. Would definitely had picked another property if we had known this! The first day we had strange bugs appearing around the house. They looked half dead but appeared from nowhere and we would have tp dispose of them - kind of disgusting. They looked like large termites but we were told they were carpenter ants? No idea as I had never seen them before but they were not pleasant. We continued to see them during stay but frequency lessened. Bedspreads did not look clean so my daughter put hers in washer to clean, However it turns out after washing that dryer was not functioning so she had no comforter on her bed. Thank goodness we had not thrown in a load of our owm laundry as we would have spent our vacation time searching for a dryer and carrying wet laundry up and down many flights of stairs!! Also made us wonder if anything in rental had been properly cleaned since there was no functioning dryer. The second night we were awakened by what sounded like one of the smoke alarms tweeting due to low battery. After much time of searching for where the sound was coming from, it was a carbon monoxide monitor that was just lying in the laundry room. We took battery out and got a little sleep. We enjoyed our time in Lake Tahoe but, unfortunately I must report, I would not stay here again. Not a good experience at all for us especially for the amount spent. I think website should definitely share with people the amount of stairs involved so they can make an informed decision!

Don't judge a book by its cover!
This condo is the middle unit of a three-unit building, which doesn't look like much from the outside. You do have to go up stairs to enter, but once inside, it is beautiful! We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. Everything was clean, the kitchen was a good size and the beds were comfortable. We liked being close enough to walk to Tahoe City, but just far enough away to avoid the weekend congestion and the neighborhood was quiet. All in all, we were very happy and would recommend!

Nice Place
The place was perfect in every way except I felt that it could have been a little cleaner. I found four hairs in the shower and 3 additional on the floor of the bathroom. The walls have a few "urine" drops that could easily be washed. Same with the kitchen, a few cabinets could easily be cleaned from splattered sauces etc. . . Otherwise a very nice stay, I really enjoyed the couple nooks and crannies, also very convenient to Tahoe City.

Perfect property
My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed at this property during a ski trip to Squaw at the beginning of March. It was so cute, perfectly renovated, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well appointed and even included some reusable grocery bags in the cabinets. The bedrooms were nice with comfy beds and we enjoyed having a washer and dryer to do a bit of laundry before we continued on with our trip. We also really appreciated the storage/shelving area near the front door for us to put all of our ski gear at the end of the day. Additionally, there was another bedroom with bunk beds and a little loft area above the kitchen that would be super fun for kids. The house was an easy drive to Squaw and very close to town. Definitely a great location. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would stay here again in a heart beat!
