Property was overbooked so we ended up having to take a room with single beds instead of the queen bed we had paid for. Staff were great but whole setup very primitive and basic. You get what you pay for - a bed for the night and not much else. But the band playing in the bar downstairs was awesome!
Our stay at Chelmsford Hotel was horrendous!
We chose this pub as we had a very early start (4am) for our Hunter Valley Ballon experience. So wanted somewhere quiet for a relatively early night.
Started with bar staff ignoring our presence at check in, then not being able to find our booking.
There was also a band setting up in the bar!
They eventually booked us in, we had 2 rooms as there were 4 of us. Rooms were small, beds were uncomfortably soft and no airflow through the room. We eventually found the bathroom which had one ladies and one gents toilet in the same room, only one sink worked and just one shower! It was also quite disturbing to find a fridge, kettle & toaster in the bathroom!
Music was loud and didn’t finish till 12, and my poor friends had the noise of either a refrigeration unit or air conditioner coming on and off right throughout the night.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Not having bathrooms separate from male & female
Which made it impossible to Showder comfortably I
Needed to go to toilet the person before me had shut door and to wait
It's a nice area to stay if you are in the neighbourhood but the rooms are so old - the mattress, sheets and carpets are maybe from 1940 or older. The room we stayed had no windows (there was a door to the balcony but it was locked)
