Beachfront Cabin with kitchen and patio
There are few locations as beautiful as the one at this spot on the water on the Chaleur Bay. To make it even better, if it's possible, is that the only convenience store for many kilometers is across the street, 2 min walk.

The water comes from a well. Do not count to take baths.

Its located right on the water just outside of Bathurst, New Brunswick, not far from Caraquet.

It has:
1) Master bedroom with double size bed. It has a huge feather pad on it that is made for queen bed. You can use it or roll it up.
2) Second bedroom with double size futon.
3) Small bedroom with pull out couch.
4) Large living room / kitchen. The living room has another double futon couch.

This is a cottage in Northern New Brunswick that is used 3 months a year. Do not expect the Trump Castle, but DO expect incredible views, fresh air, best seafood in the world, and peace and quiet. We are a family with 3 children and we spend 2-3 weeks a year here and it's ok for us. We welcome you to our summer home.

We have clean linens for everyone and towels. the kitchen has utensils and pots and pans. There is a toaster oven, a microwave, rice cooker and coffee maker.

There is a hammock out front and a fire pit.

Since we are right on the water the salty air makes metal things rust. Please do not be bothered by this since it's part of seaside cottage genre. Also the earth in reddish because of the iron in the soil. Because of this there may be rust stains in the bathroom sink and shower. Again, it part of the fun.

A professional cleaning service cleans the cottage between guests.

For 2019 season we replaced the old bathtub with a brand new one.
Guest accommodation at this cabin offers coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and kitchenware and utensils. Bathrooms include a shower.
Recreational amenities at the cabin include a water park.

A Difficult Learning Curve
Dear Future Renter, Well, if you are reading this looking to find out more about the place you are going to get, let me tell you I don't even know where to start. The property in itself was not bad just very dated, but considering the price, it was fair. If you don't mind the uneven floors or the smaller insects getting through the cracks and the appliances not quite working, for the price mentioned it's really not a bad deal. Although we have been careful to conserve water because we have been told that there isn't a lot, despite that, on the second day we lost all water to the property. The issue wasn't simply the lack of water or the lack of assistance from the owner but his attitude and rudeness in which he depicted our inability in handling the situation. Because of all this we were forced to leave the property. On the third day he did agree in text to refund our rent but we never received the money, nor were we able to contact him from that point onward. To make matters worse, even though we had several discussions with Vrbo, they could not refund us due to their policy. This entire issue was made worse by the fact that we are in the middle of the Covid crisis, where we have been so careful to save, and while it looked like a great idea to rent a nice place somewhere close but we didn't think it would end with the owner insulting my parents. Listen, I'm not saying don't rent from James, just be aware of what you are taking on. For my family this has been a sad learning curve, seeing someone so rude, vulgar and coarse. Without our faith in Christ we would not have been able to move on, but for the sake of our peace we forgave him, and keep praying for him ever since. I genuinely hope you will have a better time there then we had if you still decide to go. Regards, Daniel

False advertisement
Nice location, asked the neighbors about the staircase said they told james no guests allowed to use them for the past years, questionnable cleanliness (spider webs in cielings and light fixtures), refrigerator uncleaned rusted and fixed with tape, stove's oven doesn't work, porch's swing is uninstalled rusted and under the porch, hammock was missing a hook, the '' so called WIFI'' arrangement with the neighbors didn' t exist so asked for wifi installation which ended up with excuses and NO WIFI. (STILL WAITING FOR REFUND).

Renters BEWARE
What a huge disappointment. After driving 14 hours we arrived to a rental that had: Pee stained bed Blood stained pillow case Empty beer bottles on the porch Garbage in the waste baskets Not working fire/smoke alarm No clean linens No clean towels To a unit that had obviously not been cleaned. We were not expecting the ritz and booked it because of its scaled back amenities. We booked and paid for Sunday August 26- Thursday August 30 Cleaner showed up day after we arrived, Monday August 27, claiming to not of even known we were booked in for 4 days. She had not been to clean since the last renters. Contacted HomeAway with a complete set of photos (which was also sent to the owner who saw nothing wrong with them), filed a formal complaint. The only truth in the ad is the view. Which as we drove away, we saw was absolutely spectacular.

Nice simple cottage.
This is a nice cottage for a simple getaway. James, the owner, is very clear of that in the description so we got what we were expecting. He is also very responsive to any questions you have. This view from the yard of le bay de Challeur has some of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen. My only suggestion is to check if the property has a BBQ, or bring one with you as the they didn't have one when we stayed. Note that the area can be very windy at times being right off the bay so bring a good sweater or windbreaker with you. We would stay again.

Great affordable cottage!
The view was amazing, large sand bar was right infront of the steps, for being mid august the water was really warm. The place is definitely a cottage not a five star resort but don't listen to the review above. Originally I was detered from this property from his description. It being the only available cottage on short notice we took it and it was well worth the risk. The two down sides: The oven was not working and no barbecue, that was easily fixable by the fire pit in the back and we picked up a cheap portable BBQ from Walmar. My only other comment would be to possibly switch cleaners or wave the cleaning fee, although it is a cottage i had to scrub the place for about an hour. Overall it was a great place to relax and enjoy the weather, gorgeous views. Excellent swinging chair on back, very relaxing and very nice neighbours. Don't let the other poor review drive you away from an amazing affordable property.
