Walk anywhere!! In-Town Property.


I can't think of a better place to be than Highlands, NC. The only thing better is a location with the ability to walk everywhere in town and be above a Wine Shoppe! You will access to our Main St. facing front yard with fire pit, tables and chairs. The end to a perfect evening is having a glass of wine while sitting by the fire pit.

Our apartment was remodeled in 2017. Most of the work was done by my Father (a retired Highlands builder). We wanted to keep the characteristics of Highlands but offer modern amenities. Our property is #1 on the Historical Registry for Highlands.

Great location and very roomy

The location of this property was perfect for a weekend in Highlands - walking distance from shops and restaurants. It was a short drive to good hiking trails. The wine shop below was great; there was a lot of nice outdoor seating there.

This was the perfect home base for our trip to the Highlands, NC for a wedding (venue was Old Edwards Inn). Clean, comfortable and convenient to everything! The wine shop below is also great. We would love to come back again!

Had our second great stay in the apartment above the Wine Shoppe in Highlands. The apartment had everything we needed and is in a great location. Really nice to be able to pop downstairs and try some great wines.

We stayed in a VRBO rental above the Wine Shoppe in downtown Highlands. The property was neat and clean. Conveniently located to everything that we wanted to do...shops, restaurants within walking distance. Had a great time...plan to return again...left the property spotless and clean....

Apartment had all the comforts of home - well stocked kitchen, very spacious and comfortable and clean. Great location above the Wine Shop. Enjoyed having a glass of wine and visiting with the guests at the Wine Shop. Will definitely come back!! We planned to grill steaks based on pictures on VRBO - disappointed to find no grill. Highly recommend adding a grill.

Relaxing time in Highlands

Excellent location just a few steps from downtown. Quiet. Very clean and well appointed. Can park in the wine store parking lot. While no big deal for us, be aware no washer dryer in the apartment.

Super convenient to downtown Highlands, yet very private. It has a nice private upper level patio nicely shaded by trees, a nice kitchen and breakfast area, Master bedroom, bathroom, a large sitting room/den, and closets. TV in den and master bedroom. Everything needed was there. I'll be back!

Just the right size and close to everything

Great property for a couple. Right on the main street with easy walking access to the downtown shops and restaurants. Be aware there are a number of steps leading up to the apartment, which was not a problem for us, but should be noted. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bed super comfortable. Streaming TV was a little quirky but worked. All-in-all, this property is a good value and we would stay again.

Live Like a Local

I’ve been coming to my family’s house outside of Highlands off Buck Creek Rd for over 30 years but this year I needed to not be at the house for a few days and this VRBO popped up right away and could not have been more perfect! It is upstairs over my favorite place in town, The Highlands Wine Shoppe, (need I say more?), right on Main Street, and had everything I could possibly need to relax and live in town almost like a local! The Wine Shoppe folks are the best and the apartment had all the extras! I’m so grateful to have found this hidden jewel and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming oasis in a perfect location to enjoy all the magic that is downtown Highlands!

Outstanding Place

We’ve been to the wine shop many many times, in fact every time we go to the Highlands. When I saw that there was an apartment above for rent, I couldn’t believe it. The space itself was perfect and very well appointed. Check-in was incredibly simple. The host were available whenever we needed. We will definitely stay again.
