Flattnitz lies gently nestled between forested ridges in a romantic high valley in the Carinthian Nock Mountains - at 1400 meters above sea level.
Here you can still take wonderful hikes in untouched forests with rich flora and fauna in pure Alpine air, rest on numerous wildly flowing streams and dream on idyllic, crystal-clear mountain lakes.
The Flattnitz is also an ideal starting point for excursions of all kinds. In winter, if the manageable ski area gets too small, you can easily reach the Turracher Höhe (40min), Obertauern (45min) or the Kreischberg (20min).
In summer there are excursions to the Karl May Festival in Weitensfeld (20min), to Velden an der Wörthersee (40min), to Klagenfurt (40min) or even to Udine (1.5h).
But you can also have a good time on the Flattnitz itself at the swimming lake or on the tennis court.
