The Bucking Mule was perfect for our Durango getaway! It was the perfect size for 2 plus a dog. Private backyard, great tub and perfect location to downtown. We walked to downtown every night which was easy and enjoyable. Would highly recommend!
We loved how the house opened up to the backyard! Very clean and a 3 minute walk to a cute market. Great loction to town - we had our bikes and rode into town amd down to a lovely trail alonh the Animas river. Will definitely stay again.
We loved staying here - so cozy, beautifully decorated with every amenity one could dream of! The location is perfect - minutes from downtown in a beautiful neighborhood. The enclosed yard and lovely patio were perfect for our dog who was free to just explore. We will definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.
Really convenient to Fort Lewis College, just down the hill. 5 minutes to downtown Durango, coffee shop around corner. Very cute a cozy for just the two of us. Very clean. Lots of details for comfort that I thought were unique and well organized —bag of coffee and grinder, sugar/creamer, kitchen scissors (I needed those!), dog bed/bowl/leash, kids bath toys, robes, hair dryer/curling iron, first aid kit, etc. The bed was a soft/uncomfortable for our preference…But, really the location was essential for ur purpose in Durango. The owners were responsive and helped resolve an issue, which I appreciated.
This was a great place for my wife and I to stay with our dog. Good location and close to everything we had planned while visiting Durango. Room in private courtyard for dog to run around and explore. Rain made it a little difficult as there was no grass in courtyard just stone and dirt.
First trip to Durango and first stay at the Bucking Mule. We loved the location (8 blocks from Main Street), and a hiking trail only a couple of blocks! We especially loved the outdoor patio which was where we enjoyed a light breakfast & coffee every morning! We went to 3 different hiking trails while there as well as really enjoyed the pubs downtown. We will be back for another week or maybe two weeks next time.
Love the decor. Small, but big enough for the two of us and our two dogs. Close to town. The only problem we had was arriving at dark it was hard to find. Would be nice to have a small sign or something at the end of the driveway.
So much better than a hotel or typical unit because of the patio and yard. Inside was comfy, well-furnished- but what we particularly appreciated was the private patio and yard- the perfect place for a tranquil breakfast (lattes from nearby coffee shop) and to work; the patio location made up for the fact that we had to unexpectedly do some work! Host was very responsive about any questions we had before and during the stay. Our ancient dog loved being able to wander around.
a little hard to find (no address visible from the street. the place is very nice and the patio was great for our corgis as well as for us. If this was my property the only thing I would change is the bathroom sink which is so high that simplly washing one's face is a chore. Virtually everything one could want is stocked in the unit. We will probably try to stay here again next year.
Such a lovely lil space! Had to drive around the block a few times just to make sure I was in the right spot but that may have just been me! Very clean! I took advantage of the bath, so cool! Owners were very responsive when I reached out! Super nice and welcoming! The patio area was nice too! If you’re in the area, check out Raider Ridge Cafe across the street, great food and the owner was awesome to talk to! I’ll for sure stay again when I’m in the area!
Brought our old lab with us. The back patio was perfect for us and her. Everything we needed was available. The soaker tub was not used. Bathrm sink & mirrow set up was not practical. To tall, too far away for shaving or makeup...would return thank you.neiucomfoetab
Light and airy, nice kitchen set up, excellent shower. Great location, walkable to downtown, right near a great breakfast place. Busy street, but we were in back, so no road noise. On the downside, the small living space was somewhat cluttered with furniture, leaving no place to put suitcases. Also, the property owners were unresponsive. The first day I complained that the overgrown hedge with prickly branches made it impossible to use the driver side doors with out getting your clothes snagged. I asked the owners to help and over three days got 0 reply. I finally trimmed it myself with the kitchen Shears.
Our stay was rough the first night but pleasant the rest of the stay. The big hanging tea lights over the front porch were very bright and we couldn't find a switch to turn off. The second night we just unplugged them. The smoke detector in the laundry kept chirping so we took the battery out. Bed was comfy, kitchen was easy to cook in, and the yard was nice for our dog.
Very comfortable and well appointed efficiency, with appliances to make simple meals. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Good size, securely fenced yard for dogs. Didn't make use of outside seating and grill, but would be great in warmer weather. Dedicated parking with unit is nice, although a bit tight/difficult to rurn around, or have to back out onto 8th ave. Good location, walkable to restarants and breweries. A longer walk to the heart of downtown, but doable. Good internet for remote work. Proactive and responsive host. Enjoyed the stay.
Clean, centrally located yet quiet little casita in walking distance to everything, right across the street from the co-op, and a 5 minute walk to the Horse Gulch trailhead. Amazing Japanese soaking tub! Holly was communicative and welcoming. Would absolutely stay again!
