What a fantastic place. House was clean, property was beautiful, the river running through the back yard was lovely and calming. Close to plenty of activities. Would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved staying at this cabin, we will definitely be back! The house and property are even better than the listing makes it sound, it is truly beautiful and very relaxing. It was the perfect weekend getaway!
Enjoyable stay at the cabin during peak fall colors! The property is beautiful and private. Highlights include the deck overlooking the river and indoor fireplace. Great location between Marquette and Munising made it easy to explore hikes and bike parks in the area.
This was our second stay at the cabin and we had a great time! It was quiet and peaceful, but a manageable distance to all the fun sights we wanted to see. Thanks again for a great home base!
AC, fire pit, washer/dryer, cable tv, master bath, grill, deck, fireplace, comphy bed. Did I mention the river, large yard, pretty flowers and quiet road? Great location between Munising and Marquette. Owners have everything ready to make your stay enjoyable!
My husband and I love this cabin. It is located in a very peaceful and private setting. There is even a river that runs beside the property. It is ideally located between Munising and Marquette. The owner is very responsive and even provided some welcome treats.
Ideal out of the way location. Munising and Marquette were both easy to get to. Lake Superior was warm enough to swim in and the kitchen was well stocked. We grilled on the deck every night and ate outside.😀
Stayed for 12 days.
River was wonderful, soothing. Location was great between Marquette and pictured rocks.
Cabin could use some TLC and a deep clean.
Working remote: wifi weak but works, audio delayed on calls, not able to do video or screenshare.
Love this property, its a quiet beautiful location. About 30 mins away from Munising or Marquette. There is a large deck that makes it enjoyable to enjoy listening to the stream and watching all the stars while sitting by the fire. The hosts have just about everything you need (or forgot!) handy. A large lovely bed, a comfy pull out and plenty of warm blankets for a cold evening sitting beside the indoor fireplace eating cookies!
We can't wait to stay again!
We had another special stay on the Laughing Whitefish! Although we weren't blessed with tons of snow this year we explored and enjoyed every minute. Kids skied at Marquette Mountain, Mount Ripley and swam at NMU. Had a mid-February BBQ on the riverside deck and enjoyed the warmth of the fire pit. Enjoyed our small fireplace, it is the best fireplace! The cabin is small but just right for us. Thank you Cathy and Scott.
We traveled to this charming cabin for a wedding at Pictured Rocks and decided to make it a longer stay for a short vacation. We enjoyed our time at this adorable cabin in the woods. It provided a comfortable place to just chill between activities and a homey place when we didn't want to go anywhere and just played games. The property owner was very accommodating and easy to get ahold of. The creek running through the property was beautiful and very calming to listen to when everything else was busy. Highly recommend! Thank you!
Peaeful and relaxing stay at the river away from normal life craziness! The cabin is clean and cozy, furnished and stocked for a nice stay. The awesome deck is great to relax with a fire and watch the stars- we saw the Milky Way!
Had 2 eagles fly right over our head while relaxing by the river. Also close to Marquette or Munising so lots to do. We enjoyed the waterfalls and playing on the shore with our dog. I recommend this place to all- we have been here manybtimes and will be back again. Thank you Cathy and Sott for a lovely plae.
I found this cabin after needing to cancel at another one for ealier in the summer. Honestly, this seems like it was for the best, as the Laughing Whitefish was such a great stay. It was located between Marquette (great town with nice vibes) and Munising, which is the outpost for a lot of activities. I loved sipping coffee on the deck most mornings, listening to the creek, and ending the day with a fire in the Solo stove and some s'mores. Goats across the creek were excellent entertainment.
It was nice to have two bathrooms to share with two teens, and the extra bean bag bed was a nice surprise for my 6 foot 16 year old. Our black lab was comfy and at home. She LOVED the nearby beaches, and we did, too. This was our first time exploring the area, and we know we barely scratched the surface. I would love to come back in the snow too, as the cabin would be some a homey home base, no doubt.
What an amazing adventure we had for a week+ at the Laughing Whitefish River Cabin! The amenities of the house and yard (and adjacent river!) were perfect for my spouse and me to spend with our 2 younger kids and 2 older dogs. This cabin provided an ideal location almost exactly halfway between Marquette and Munising for our daily adventures and explorations (don't overlook nearby Au Train, either, for a great beach on the big lake as well as kayaking the river). Cathy and Scott were exceptional hosts, too. I've stayed in rental houses/cabins all over the country and can say it's rare to find a place that not only has an indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit, but also provides the wood you need to enjoy them without an additional fee. They were always quick to respond in any communication needs, but they were clear that they wanted to give us privacy and space for our stay, too. The only complaint we had in the slightest was that the mosquitoes were SO thick most of the day and night during our mid-July stay. I have no critique to offer the property owners about the bugs, realizing this is just July in the UP - but I want to mention it as something to be prepared for since it affected our stay. We would have used the deck and yard more than we did if the mosquitoes hadnt seized upon us every time we stepped out the door. Bring the deet when you come, but definitely still come stay here! I'm still smiling, thinking of the family of wild turkeys that visited us daily, too!
It was fantastic, very cool location, right between Munising and Marquette. The owners were great, we will stay again for sure. I imagine it's really nice in the summer.
