The space was very comfortable and we loved the decor. The host was very welcoming as well! We will definitely check if this place is available again for our next visit to Champaign.
This cozy spot is perfect for one or two couples. Not too far from UofI campus, stadium, restaurants and bars. Quiet neighborhood made it the perfect place to stay.
The Attic was comfortable and clean. I have a weird old house and this was very similar. Overall I liked it a lot. There were some cobwebs and the paint job was subpar but it was safe and comfortable.
Great place to stay. Three minute drive to downtown Champaign. Listing was accurate and Rin communicated well, leaving me with no questions or concerns. Thanks!

Loved the decor and the full kitchen, master bed was a bit too shaky for us to share so we had to sleep separately, other than that it was a good time
This was such a clean, cute place! We only used one of the bedrooms, but it would sleep 4 very comfortably. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook and serve a meal for our son (student at U of I) and some of his friends. We felt very at home during our 2 nights and would definitely stay here again!
It is on the 2nd floor, so guests would want to make sure they can do stairs easily. We heard some noise from neighbors below, but very minimal. We stayed in February, so weren't interested in being outside, but I wondered if there was a grill or any outdoor space for warmer weather visits?
Not as advertised and had too many issues, resulting in stress instead of relaxation
The good: clean, with high quality sheets and towels. Kitchen is equipped, and limited pantry items like oil, salt, seasoning etc. are there.
The bad: the listing said there was a hot tub both when I booked months ago and the day before arrival. There is no hot tub. Upon checking in, I communicated this to the host and was told it was a "toggle issue" with the VRBO website. Ok.
Later that evening when I tried to relax watching tv, I realised there was no cable connecting the TV to power. I messaged, but the message never went through. I messaged the next morning and it was resolved within a couple of hours.
The next morning, I was woken up by the smoke detector beeping because it had a low battery. I live in a world of changing smoke detector batteries every year at the same time, so I was surprised this happened. I messaged. Though I wanted to sleep in while my sister went out to breakfast, the combination of beeping and being alone when a stranger entered to change the batteries was too much, so I went out as well. A few hours later it was resolved.
That afternoon, I had a shower (the showerhead is so low I, at 5'5", had to bend) and turned the lights and fan off. 10 minutes later, my sister went in and suddenly neither the light nor fan worked. I didn't message because I was too annoyed.
Finally, cups were dirty when I arrived, and there were no face or dish cloths.
When I looked just now, the listing still includes a hot tub. That's fraud. Listing needs work.
My 15yo and I stayed in this cute 2 bed apt for a few days. Owner was great. Space was clean, if quirky. Beds were comfy. We liked the boho vibe. The kitchen was serviceable but a few more dishes, glasses and a baking pan would have been helpful (bc I cooked). Really good value for visiting UIUC.
This stay was a disappointment to us. Although it was pretty much as described, it didn't seem that the host had actually spent much time thinking about the guest experience here. The mirror in the bathroom was installed at chest level...useless. The furnace was so noisy in one bedroom we turned it off at night. The whole-house fan was so loud we were not sure it was intended for use by the attic-dwellers. The window air conditioners were wimpy even in the Spring and prevented decent air circulation in the apartment. The narrow and broken sidewalk to the apartment was overgrown with bushes and vegetation so we got our legs wet every time we went out, made friends with a snake who lived there, and, remembering the broken place, had to pick our way at night as there is no good light. It was a challenge to two able-bodied adults to climb the steep and narrow stairs (especially with anything in our hands) to the point that we think that this should be mentioned in the description. Although the apartment was dry, the entry smelled of mildew. The kitchen was missing many things our experience with VRBO has lead us to expect; coffee filters and at least a bit of coffee, for instance, and room-darkening curtains in the bedrooms. Although the decor is cozy and cute, the walls have holes in them and should have been repaired before being repainted. To their credit, however, the host fixed the leaking sink we found on our arrival and supplied us with washcloths when we asked for them immediately, which we did appreciate.
We loved the place! It was within 10-15 minutes of everything we were doing. Quiet neighborhood, clean apartment, and so cozy! Host was so helpful as well. I would definitely stay here again.
Everything was what you’d expect except no starter kit coffee and the furnace was so loud it consistently interrupted our sleep. Thank goodness I brought my earplugs. The owner was responsive to our communications.
We originally reserved this VRBO in Feb, but due to an unseasonal snowstorm, couldn't make the drive. We asked if we could reschedule for March, but didn’t expect much. To our delight, the manager agreed to the new dates! Upon arrival, it didn't look like much, but in reality, it was a hidden gem. The neighborhood was quiet, yet close to downtown. We enjoyed the many takeout restaurants nearby. Since we are in a pandemic, we chose this route just to get away for a few days, eat in and enjoy some nearby outdoor activities.
The VRBO app was glitching, so the owner sent us their private number to use in case of needing anything.
I have to say, even with a couple of issues beyond the host's control, Mary was very good to us, and it was much appreciated.
The decor was romantic for our Anniversary getaway, much better than the standard cookie-cutter hotel decorum. Beds were comfortable memory foam and the place was well-stocked with items we needed to use in the kitchen and bath.
We would recommend this particular VRBO.
