The title is a spoof on that well known real estate phrase and in this case it is very true. This townhome is in a great location with fantastic views of the beach, particularly from the 2nd and 3rd floor balconies. It is also within easy walking distance of the boardwalk and activity area in downtown Carolina Beach.
As other reviewers have noted the interior of the home is very dated, in fact I would say it is pretty much in the original condition when built last century, accept for carpets, etc. The outside of the entire complex has been totally renovated so the balconies, rails and sliders are all in good, new condition.
But we really did not care, the price point reflects the condition of the interior. The home is still very comfortable and if you have couples staying there, as we did, there is plenty of private space.
My only gripe about the home were two things. Firstly, some of the furniture was in poor condition. There was a chair on the top balcony that was literally falling apart and quite unsafe to sit on. No excuse for that. Secondly, we had a small child with us and the pickets on the stair rails are far apart and easy for a child to fall through. This is actually a code violation and I was surprised the rental company (Bryant) had not insisted this be corrected as it is liability.
Those are the only two reasons I marked this townhome down to 4 stars overall. But to be quite honest I would rent again as it is just such a fantastic location for the price.
