Booking this trip was a breeze with Jayme! We had never been to the area, so naturally had a lot of questions - and she answered all of them (about the property and surrounding areas to visit), quickly and completely with extra information that was much appreciated!
The house is beautifully decorated, and has all of the necessities if you happen to forget something. We couldn't have asked for a cleaner place to stay! The back deck was enjoyed all day, every day - the slide is fast but very fun!!! We enjoyed some "exploring" down the mountain (not far as the hillside gets steep but plenty of climbing for my almost 3 year old!), saw deer on the hillside every day out the windows, and the view 😍.
We look forward to hopefully going back again next year! (Maybe booking both this and their other house just a few driveways up to have more family join) Huge thanks to Jayme for making our first VRBO experience such a delight!

Challenging road that leads to paradise
Jayme was very nice to work with. She allowed us early check in and the home was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. The owners paid attention to every detail when building the home which is cozy and perfect for a comfortable cabin in the woods. The road can be a big problem though. We arrived after it had been quite rainy and new stones had been added to the dirt road. Our minivan almost didn't make it up the hill out of the cabin (we are very familiar with driving on beat up dirt roads). We had to add sticks to fill in holes and go back and forth a few times, but thank God, we made it out to attend our son's graduation at JMU. We had our other sons drive over in our 4 wheel drive pickup and also alerted Jayme about the problem and her husband worked on the road while we were at graduation. From that point on, however, we didn't trust taking our van down the road again. Over the weekend trip, the rain cleared and the road dried up more too and we had no problems getting in and out with our 4 wheel drive truck. We all loved the little cabin, fire pit, and awesome view, but unless you have a 4 wheel drive, I don't recommend staying here. Also, they seem to have a problem with their sewage as there is a foul smell outside and coming from the sinks. Overall, my family really enjoyed our stay.
What a great place! Even nicer in person. The house was perfect. We had some rain so we missed enjoying the outside amenities, but what a view and even spent a morning with a deer family. Nature at its finest! The house itself was awesome. Had absolutely everything you needed. It was a bit of a tough ride to the cabin itself. Narrow road and a few bumps (maybe some extra rocks or smooth out the the bumps towards then end a bit) but all was good. We definitely enjoyed our quick visit for parent weekend at JMU. DEFINITELY WORTH THE VISIT! Thanks for hosting us.
The property is incredibly well maintained and appointed. The decor is timely and adorable. We had everything we needed and then some. The road to the property is not for the faint of heart, however, more than worth the ride for the view off the back deck as you drink your coffee! We will be back and HIGHLY recommend!
