The hotel (if you can call it a hotel) was locked up and empty when we arrived. We walked around the side to a bar and was told this is where to check in. At this point we would have walked away but it was late, we had been driving all day and did not know the area for other hotels. We had to pay up front as we were told that nobody would be about in the morning, and we had to leave the key in a post box.
We let ourselves into the building, the musty smell hit us immediately. It was pitch black and empty, and only dim lights came on as we tried to find the room. We found the room, where the door had been left wide open with all windows open and the rugs hanging out of the window. It was dismal. Had we not already paid or not have been charged on our card we would have left immediately.
I cannot believe that this sort of hotel can be allowed to charge an astronomical fee of 75e for facilities of this kind.
