Check in was at 4. I had to call a little after 4 to request the location and access code.
It appears guests are responsible for doing the housecleaning. The dishes are dirty, and in our case their was broken glass all over the floor.
I requested a phone call back from "the manager" regarding one of my kids cutting my their foot on the glass but never received a call back.
It's unfortunate, the house is in a great location but needs cleaning after checkouts.

The kitchen defiantly lacked in comparison to other cabins we have rented. It hardly had any cooking utensils, pots and pans. We ended up only cooking one meal because of this even though the kitchen itself was great. None of the TVs were plugged in we had to switch out remote batteries as well. The smoke detector kept going off in game room. Every frame upon check in was crooked and lose. Lighting in downstairs bathroom was poor with a light bulb out. The shower light bulb was completely hanging down the Maintenace guy came first thing Saturday and did a great job fixing it. Heater worked great. Not sure we would come back to this property, but we do love booking with big bear cool cabins.

Everyone at the main office was fantastic, and so very helpful if I had any questions before or upon arrival. They were all friendly, well informed, and helped me throughout. So I please know that this review is really only for the home itself, which was subpar.
The kitchen refrigerator never closed properly (even when we *made sure* to secure the door), the microwave didn't have a plate in it to heat things up in, and the fan over the stove didn't work at all.
But our biggest problems were in the bedrooms, especially upstairs. We had my son and his friend with us, and they both slept in the corner rooms upstairs, where BOTH sets of windows were drafty and you could feel cold air coming in. There was only one space heater provided, and no central heating upstairs. Just unacceptable in these very cold winter months.
The bathroom was not cleaned in the upstairs, and had lots of hair everywhere along the floor and counter.
And lastly, the middle room on the second floor (where I slept) was really not inhabitable. The sheets were not clean! And again, someone else's hair was all over them - and the pillowcases. I did not feel comfortable at all. Not to mention the window rattled ALL NIGHT LONG from the heavy winds, and has a *huge crack in the bottom left corner*. And with the very strong winds, it made noise and was drafty all night long. I didn't sleep much at all.
This is just not acceptable when you're renting out a home that will most likely have families like ours, and young kids.
You must make this property more inhabitable, and upgrade the kitchen appliances, along with all the windows upstairs.
Thank you.
