Everly's Hideout, beautiful wilderness getaway! Large new lakefront deck, and high speed Internet

Everly's Hideout, unspoiled luxury in a wilderness setting, is newly renovated & fully equipped for your vacationing pleasure. Awesome WiFi speeds! Perched on a hillside above Idabel Lake with gorgeous lake views it is a perfect couple's retreat, or family getaway. The beach, dock and playgrounds are only a 2 minute walk away.
Some things to note about your stay at Everly's Hideout.
Idabel Lake Resort is a grouping of privately owned lodge units and cabins, not a resort in the true sense of the word, though there are some shared amenities like the beach, field with volleyball net, dock, firepit, playground and games room.
Everly's Hideout is a very cautious pet friendly property. If you have a smaller to mid size well behaved dog over 1.5 years old, that is not used to being in your beds or on furniture at home (preferably not upstairs at all), it may be a possibility to bring your dog. There is an additional pet fee of $30 per night plus taxes and fees. If they are used to restrictions at home, it works, otherwise it is not fair to expect your pet to behave differently when on holiday.
The rental is for the guests you have booked and visitors are not allowed unless they are added to your booking.
I am available for questions anytime using the AirBnB messaging system or by text. Our cleaning people are located right at Idabel Lake and I can contact them if you have a maintenance concern. We are often in Kelowna as well so can be available.
Everly's Hideout is located in a small grouping of privately owned cabins and lodge units called Idabel Lake Resort. Idabel Lake is a small wilderness community on the lake that is about 1/2 hour drive from Kelowna. It is an awesome year round getaway from the city, quiet and serene. In the winter, the lake is frozen and you can snowmobile, skate and cross country ski on it (depending on conditions of course).
In the summer there is great hiking in the mountains and to other nearby lakes. It is close to the trans Canada bike trail so mountain biking is a favorite activity in the area. You can bring your own canoes, kayaks or paddleboards to get out to get out on the lake. The swimming is lovely, a bit cool, but great on those hot summer days.
Idabel Lake is about a 15 minute drive past the Big White turnoff when heading from Kelowna towards Beaverdell. You turn right off highway 33 about 3 km past the Big White turn (to the left). You will see the signs for Idabel Lake and the road is called McCullough Road where you turn right off the highway. At the next intersection you turn left and travel about 4 km until you see the sign to turn right for Idabel Lake Road (FYI if you continue straight on McCullough Road you come to Kelowna cross country ski club trails).
Idabel Lake is 6 km from Highway 33. The road off the highway is not paved but is plowed in the winter. You will need a car to get there and in winter, it is preferable to have a 4 x 4 or front wheel drive with good winter tires.
There is a games room in the lodge with a telephone should you need it. Cell phones do not work at Idabel Lake, but you can use WiFi to make calls or receive text messages and emails if your phone has that capability.
The resort is actually a bigger lodge with several units, a duplex and 8 cabins each privately owned. The name "resort" is a bit misleading :).
There are no grocery stores or restaurants at Idabel Lake, so you will want to have supplies with you. There are lots of restaurants at Big White or in Kelowna. When you drive to Big White base, the gondola is free to get to the village where there are awesome restaurants in the winter and some even open in the summer.
The drive from the cabin to the Gem Lake Express Quad at Big White is a quick 20 minute drive. There is also a small lodge and bistro there at the base of the Gem Lake Ski lift.
We hope you will enjoy this wilderness treasure!
The whole cabin is yours
Everly's Hideout, unspoiled luxury in a wilderness setting, is newly renovated & fully equipped for your vacationing pleasure. It even has a dishwasher! Perched on a hillside above Idabel Lake with gorgeous lake views it is a perfect couple's retreat, but also great for a family holiday.
This vacation spot is full service including high quality beds & linens (no microfibre), high speed Internet with Roku TV & Netflix year round. There are two bedroom areas in the loft with privacy sight wise, but not noise wise. Each bedroom has a convenient desk area. Come experience BC wilderness with all the comforts.

The cottage is located in Idabel Lake Resort which offers a beach, dock, swimming area, games room and playground.

The whole cabin is yours.

The holiday we were looking for!
This was all it claimed to be and more. We were provided with swift answers to our questions beforehand. Once there, everything was straightforward, no surprises. As a result we had the vacation we had been hoping for. We hope to be able to return in the near future.

Love everything about this cabin. Has everything you need for a quiet, relaxing stay. This is my second time staying, and this time I came in December and the cabin had winter decor and even a little Christmas tree in the corner! It was so cozy. I’ll be back!

Tranquility turned to nightmare and conned by the host.
A few hours before our arrival we received an email saying there would be builders in next door doing concreting and as being a builder myself i wasn’t to concerned with one day of building work. However the host failed to inform us that the building work was going on throughout our stay and that it would be very noisy and lots of shouting and bad language for my children to hear on the balcony outside which i have video evidence of. We were on a busy tour of British Columbia and this was booked as a peaceful and chilled out part of our trip. The first day we arrived it was exactly that as the builders had already left and we thought this is what we were looking for. Then the next three days were constant noise and bad language which i don’t blame the builders as they are just doing there job. On top top of this the property was very dusty and not been cleaned properly which isn’t good when you have a baby crawling around. The water out the taps is dirty and we didn’t bring bottled or be advised to for drinking. The host was in contact easily with us via email but as soon as i sent a complaint email stating how cross we were at the fact she didn’t inform us earlier about the building work and the fact i had spoken to the builders and they had confirmed with me what i already presumed, which is that they had been working there a while and she would have know about this ongoing renovation next door made us even more angry that we booked the property especially as there was no option for cancellation so we actually felt miss sold the holiday and was forced into committing to something which was falsely advertised. To top it all off we have yet to receive our deposit back which was due on the 19th of June. The host has told me a week ago she would look into it and heard nothing since. If i don’t get any further with that i will be contacting vrbo to claim it back. So finally i apologise to anyone that has had to read this long review but i 100% would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone and i have traveled to a lot of places in my time and sadly this is up there with the worst.
