Lake Wabaunsee is a recreational lake and community nestled in and amongst the beautiful Flint Hills. The spring-fed lake has spectacular views and hospitality in the Flint Hills of Wabaunsee County, Kansas. It is located only a mere 45 minutes from Topeka, Manhattan, Emporia, and Council Grove Kansas.
At The Lakeview Retreat we offer a 2300 sq ft home on Lake Wabaunsee with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (sleeping 13). The Lakeview Retreat is located on the deep waters of the lake so you can enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming right off of the docks. The Lakeview Retreat is a fully furnished home with many amenities to help make your stay away from home comfortable and relaxing. The amenities included are:

Fully furnished kitchen (including toaster, cooking utensils, dishes, pots/pans, crock pot, blender, and waffle maker)

The home also has a Bunk Room located in the basement of the home that has 3 sets of bunk beds (5 twin size beds and one lower bunk is a king size bed) to accommodate 7 additional guests with a full bath and an additional sitting area with TV/gaming with walk out to lake activities. *There is an additional fee of $150/night for use of the Bunk Room. Contact home owners to make accommodations to use the Bunk Room.

Perfect spot on the lake

We enjoyed another visit to the lake front house with our family. This was our 3rd or 4th visit and each time we are thankful for Charlene's hospitality and the time at the lake.

Such a special place!

This was a perfect place to have a celebration with our family. The house is clean and spacious, the lake was beautiful and the deck was a wonderful place to take enjoy it all. We will definitely come back!

Our whole group really loved the house and surrounds. Charlene was a spectacular host in terms of prepping the house, providing support/information, including personal touches inside, and even supporting us after we departed. Loved the place!!

Great family vacation spot

Everyone enjoyed their time at this house on Lake Wabaunsee. The house is very well kept and has tons of space for the family to eat and play. Everyone enjoyed swimming in the lake, as well as the kayaks and lily pad. Can't wait to go again!

Relaxing Lakeview Retreat

We enjoyed our second summer staying at the Lakeview Retreat! The owners did a great job updating the bathroom and adding some additional outdoor space. The kids enjoy swimming in the lake the kitchen is well stocked. Thanks for hosting us!

Late October family getaway

Beautiful home on the west side of the lake with gorgeous lake views! Large home, stylishly decorated, huge backyard, wraparound back deck, and so much outdoor seating! Our host was attentive, friendly, and provided so many amenities. We would book again in a heartbeat! Miller Time

This property exceeded all of our expectations! The setting is the best on Lake Wabaunsee and was perfect for our family. The hosts have thought of every little detail and were so easy to communicate with. This is such a lovely home and emulated that atmosphere. Fabulous family time!

This is our second year staying at Lakeview Retreat and we hope to have many more annual family lake vacations here. It is perfect for our three generations with a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to suit everyone. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We boat, fish and swim off the dock, spend lots of time on the deck, take walks and bike rides in the neighborhood, play board games at night, and have lively family dinners at the ample covered picnic table on the deck. We are so grateful for the lasting memories created here. Charlene is a wonderful hostess. You should definitely give this property a try - you'll be glad you did!

Beautiful Lakehouse!

My family and I traveled to Kansas for my Grandson's high school and college graduations. We stayed at Charlene's beautiful lake house! We loved all the personal touches! She had a welcome scroll with all the last names of the families that were with us. There was also a map of the US with little strips of paper with the towns of our state of where we were coming from. The coffee and smores bars were wonderful! It has everything you need! Charlene was super easy to communicate with and very attentive to our needs. I could go on and on but book this lake house for yourselves and see for yourselves how wonderful it is! Thank you Charlene for making our trip so amazing!

Such a perfect place to get our family together! California, Thailand, New Hampshire, Leawood. So impressed that the home had everything you could possibly need! Very well planned and thought out. We also rented the bunk room for the kids! So nice that they had their own space at night.We all had so much fun swimming, floating and kayaking! Fishing was the best for everyone. Do have to say that our 8 year granddaughter caught the biggest fish! Almost 3 lbs! We will definitely return! Thank you so much!!

Best VRBO Lake House Ever!

This home had more family gathering space and amenities than any lake home we have rented (20 or more). Spacious and well-equipped kitchen with 12-person dining room table. There is also great outdoor seating for a large group. We were only 6 so we didn't utilize the bunk room space in the lower level. This is a great home for our size group or a larger group with all of the sleeping arrangements. Tons of games to play and water equipment (kayaks, lily pad, floats and life jackets) so no need to bring anything. Two dock options for play and fishing with great, clear deep water. The large three-car garage was fabulous for loading up in the rain this morning!
