“Perfect location”
The hotel is perfectly located a short walk from the bus and rail stations making it ideal for transporting your luggage to the hotel and just as important when you need to leave, you will be back on your transport to the airport in 10 mins after leaving the hotel. The whole feel of the hotel is perfect and in line with typical Venice. A superb walk to Rialto and San Marco or just 1 minute for the waterbus stop...... Superb hotel, superb location......JUST BOOK IT..... we're going back for sure.......
“A Great Stay at a Lovely Hotel.”
This hotel is close to station and the parking station of Venice. The room was comfortable and quiet with heavy duty shutters keeping out all unwanted noises and when open they let in the sounds of Venice and its street musicians. The breakfasts were very tasty, all you could eat and more, and delicious coffee! Our night concierge, Antonio, became an instant, special friend who made our visit just delightful. In hindsight we should have stayed there several more nights. We highly recommend it to anyone.
“Exremely satisfied though expensive”
Very good location just next to main station. Lift is not there but my wife helped by front office for luggage.Room size was small and just enough for a couple. Rates were on higher side may be to do with season and Venice demand supply situation. very friendly and helpful front office.
“Very impressed with Hotel and definitely would go back again”
Staff very polite and helpful. Breakfast was good only down fall is dining room is very small we had to wait for other people to finish before we could have breakfast. Food was good and service.
“Delightful surprise”
This hotel is good value for money. It is conveniently situated near the bus and train stations and a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. There were lots of places to eat nearby. The one drawback is that there is no lift - a fact not indicated on the website. If we ever return to Venice we will have no hesitation in staying there again.
“Nice hotel in nice area.”
Location much better than expected-nice tourist area, restaurants (some really inexpensive, like Brek self service with E3.50 for 0.5l of wine) old city but not so crowded,20-30 min walk across to any point in Venice,5 min walk to train station,10 min to car rentals.Friendly reception,we checked in much early.Room was big enough with additional small room for our kid (no doors between though),clean (they clean every day on request),shower small but ok for Europe, windows small into alley but they said it was only "suite" available (we did request regular triple room,so it was nice),AC wasn't so efficient and mosquitos -but they everywhere in Venice and they don't care about organic repellent that I brought!.Breakfast ok ,but no cheese or meats-carbs only-cruassans,jam,butter etc.In general-Hotel Spagna is a good choice,I am glad I didn't book on San Marco Pl. (crazy crowds, often no private bathroom or breakfast for same money and we wouldn't probably walk trough all this small beautiful streets without hordes of tourists).
“Best location, convienent, clean and comfy. Everything you could need!”
We loved this Hotel. The price was great especialy for Venice. The rooms were clean and more importantly the beds were very very comfortable. The manager on the desk was freindly and very helpful, especially when we came in very late at night. There is a bit of a hike up the stairs, five floors actually, so either ask for room 111 or 101, or be peprared. The breakfast was fine, plenty of crossiants, rolls, james etc and really good tea and coffee. The rooms were very clean, yes a little sparse but this was made up by the huge bathroom. You really dont spend a lot of time in your room in Venice, so I think anything more is really a waste of money. Our room looked over an alley, which meant it was very quiet at night, our friends looked over the main street, but the double glazing made it very quiet for them as well. The hotel is very convienet to everything, including the railway station. Its a quick 5 min walk to the railway station with not one bridge to climb. There are some great shops for that` last minute buy on the way out. All in all id go back there in a heart beat. Its everything you can ask for in such a old city. Some people complained about a musty sell, there was a faint one we noticed as soon as we opened the door, but after 5 minutes it was gone. Oh and the air conditioning was great. I actually had to turn it up as I was freezing, which was a welcome releife on such a hot day. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.
“Great place to visit and a fantastic hotel to stay”
Great experience!! The hotel was great. Service, breakfast, front desk. It is a clean place and the money paid was worth it
“Nice and well located”
This hotel has an excellent location if you arrive from St. Lucia Train Station. Staff was kind and helpful. They gave us information about place of interest, tours and how to use ferry. Little space well used. Comfortable beds. The only "but" is that there's no elevator so we had to carry our luggage ourselves trough the stairs.
“Fine, modest hotel, great locale.”
Very helpful staff
