“Fabulous hotel...”

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the hotel and staff were at the Bauer Hotel. The only thing I can recommend is have breakfast included in your package as it is 50 euros pp if not. I also suggest getting the "shared" water taxi to and from the airport as it is a fraction of the cost of a private and you are still on the same boat just sharing with a couple of extraa people. When we left we actually were the only ones on board. We stayed in the Casa Nova building and it was incredible.

“Excellent location, stellar service. Stay at the Bauer”

I booked this hotel via Expedia and was shocked at how good the price was. I have been to Venice twice before and knew that I would pay top dollar in August. I had booked a Grand Canal view room which unfortunately, was not available to me when I arrived. But by way of compensation, the hotel treated us to Champagne on the gorgeous terrace and gave us a palatial suite with two gorgeous marble bathrooms, a stunning living room with bar, two walk in closets/dressing areas and a huge bedroom with separate closing doors. There was no view of the canal, but the room was wonderful. My service was stellar and the people could not have been nicer. You cannot find a better location in Venice, either for walking this beautiful city or for enjoying the view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was a sumptuous buffet complete with delicious melons, prosciutto, champagne, and all manner of other breakfast foods. I recommend the Bauer without reservation.

“Looking forward to our next breakfast buffet overlooking the Grand Canal”

A beautiful hotel with great service and conveniently located on the Grand Canal. It is an expensive hotel and I would say overpriced, but considering it is in Venice and right on the Grand Canal and a couple of blocks from St. Mark's Square, the extra money seems worth it particularly if you are only staying for a few days; or in our case a couple of days before boarding our cruise ship. The staff is very helpful particularly in letting you know about the places to visit along with making any arrangements you need for a water taxi. Their restaurant on the Grand Canal is the highlight of this hotel, particularly on a warm sunny morning.
