“Best location for all our needs at a terrific bargain”

Great selection for price and a 'home base' where we could catch the on-off bus for tours, walk the neighborhood for our dining and purchase needs - including the proximity of banks for monetary exchange; good secure parking for vehicle; comfortable beds!

Area recommendations

False Creek is amazing for a jumping off point! Have also stayed in North Vancouver and the use of Seabus is an aid to sightseeing.

Getting around

Hotel is a stop for both trolley and on-off red bus! Many dining and other opportunities are within a small walking distance - including Starbuck's, Tim Horton's, several terrific restaurants like White Spot and La Bodega; money exchange services and banks and even a FedEx! Very easy on-off access from the Granville Bridge as well.

“Average quality hotel”

It is clean, the desk staff were helpful and the location is good, but there are several other hotels with locations as good (or better) that appear to be newer buildings. This hotel doesn't seem to have been redecorated internally since the 1980s (or 1970s). The free Wi-Fi is also awful (connects but operates between slow and completely stopped).

“OK Hotel - not for business if you may need to use their internet”

Nice hotel, but if you will need internet access, look elsewhere. Their free WIFII is avvailable 3 out of every 10 minutes. It cuts out constantly and makes it next to impossible to get real work done. In this day and age, it really is not that difficult or expensive to wire up a hotel. When they specify their free wifi, they should add the caveat that its free "if you can get it". Now lets see if I can save this without having to reconnect. To be fair, if you don't care about WIFI, hotel is in a nice, central location. A little dated, but very clean and the staff seems friendly.

“Good experience”

Location,costumer service and room confort good job. Very close to Grandville island 5 minutes walk to the beach, take sea bus to the market very nice place to start you day .robson street shop and restaurants10 minutes walk from the hotel.

“Constyruction Noise”

Unfortunately two large building constructions are taking place at the front and at the rear of the hotel. Staff were very helpful.

“great hotel for the price”

Have been here more than 3 times. People are friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Very clean.

Area recommendations

West End is nice, good restaurants at Davie St.and not very expensive. Gastown was a bored Yaletown was very nice but expensive. Granville Island had nice restaurants

“Good Vancouver base”

A neat and comfortable central location from which to explore downtown Vancouver. Plenty of eating houses nearby, as well as the downtown highlights, Stanley Park, and Granville Island.

Area recommendations

Stanley Park for a relaxing stroll, or even more vigorous activity. English Bay for the sun, sand and a swim. Vancouver foreshore area for a pleasant stroll. Granville Island for arts, crafts, entertainment and a meal.

“Very helpful staff”

We were completely comfortable in our 3 days at the hotel. We had a lower front room and there was some traffic noise, but the blackout curtains and the A/C helped with that. It was a big, clean room. Our best experience was with the staff. Tour recommendations, taxi calls, airline boarding passes, even a plunger, all were handled for us in a manner that was extremely helpful and above and beyond. The price was right and the location, though not the greatest, was walking distance from Granville Mall and bus lines and we got around just fine.

Area recommendations

Granville Island, Gastown looked like lots of fun and we only got a quick look. Beaches at Stanley Park were very inviting since we had sunny days.
