“Nice place”

Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Security measures excellent. Parking convenient. Location good for traveling in any direction. White Spot restauruant good place for breakfast or snack.

“Clean and Tidy and very polite staff”

Arrived very early at 9 am , was given a room , the lady behind the desk was very helpfull and nice, had rest thery happy e room was well furnished and tidy upon check out i over slept and called and they gladly extended checkout at no extra cost. and orginised a shuttle to my destination verry happy

“Highly recommend hotel”

The best western is a well priced hotel and is well situated for easy access to downtown vancouver and Granville island. Yes there is construction noise after 7:30am weekdays only but the hotel is well insulated so I only heard it once I was awake. I found their service exceptional and the shuttle bus is a great service. Would stay at this hotel again....for business or pleasure.

“Convenient and affordable”

All areas of the city are assessable from the hotel. Plus, a shuttle service is available. The staff is helpful and the room had the usual ammenities. If ever I had the need to return to Vancouver, I would again stay at the Best Western Plus.

“Excellent Value in Vancouver”

The Best Western Plus in Downtown Vancouver was a very good hotel offering very clean rooms at a reasonable price. There is an added charge for parking and you should count on using their garage...so figure the fee as part of your overall hotel charge. The staff were very professional and helpful when asked questions. If the weather is reasonable they have bycycles that you can use...to ride around Stanley Park for example. We used the laundry room, exercise equipment and whirlpool while there and found all to be in reasonable working condition...and kept very clean! They also have a free shuttle service to be used for infrequent/scheduled travel...the driver was very friendly and very informative when asked questions about the area. All-in-all, a very nice stay!

Area recommendations

The area around the Best Western Plus (on Drake Street) was very convenient for us. Davie Street (one block over) reminded me of the uptown neighborhood in Minneapolis...very cosmopolitan with more restaurants than you can imagine. Culturally diverse population with at least one eating establishment per culture represented. A fun walk along the street during the day with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There is a majority of breakfast, lunch and bar scene establishments as walk and people watch. For dinner, there is an area of downtown called Yaletown which offers a variety of very good dining options. We had a lovely meal and excellent service at The Keg; which specializes in steak and seafood.

“Can walk to Yaletown”

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and the hotel has free internet and wi-fi. You can walk to Yaletown in just a few minutes and can walk over the bridge to Granville Island in about 20 minutes.

“Would recommend Best western HOTEL.”

easy check in with GOOD location. easy walk to water taxi to go to granville island. borrowd bikes from hotel and was easy to get to the shore line to ride to stanley park and back without any traffic hastle. friendly staff and handy use of internet in lobby. when we first arrived we walked up to the centre of the city up Grandville street and at first was a little wary of he homeless people in the area. by walking one street down you did not have to confron this which made it much more enjoyable and actually quiet attractive. This best western did not have breakfast as we had experienced at a B/W in Victoria but you could use an ajoining restaurant which was okay... would recommend this hotel.

Getting around

We went to Vancouver Island as foot passenger so we caught the local bus to Horseshoe Bay then directly onto the ferry. Very easy an efficient service. If short of time recommnend to do the city tour and trip to Cailano Suspension Bridge. Well worth it. The Lookout is also worth visiting to orientate yourself with the central district and beyond.
