“would return”

We were pleasantly surprised by the town of Felixtowe and even more so by its neighbour,the ancient town of Ipswich. The Marlborough may have seen better days but it was clean,comfortable and the staff were efficient and helpful.

“Comfortable, but hungry ...”

I stayed at the Marlborough for five nights in November 2011. The hotel is old-fashioned and sdomewhat creaky, but the room was comfrtable enough, and the reception staff helpful when summoned. But on three out of four occasions I went into the restaurant about 30 minutes after opening to find the lights on but (apparently) nobody home. Waiting several minutes and calling out a few times produced no result, so I went elsewhere. On the other (first) occasion, I had a satisfying and inexpensive meal. I'd certainly recommend the hotel as somewhere to spend the night, but dining might be an outside experience.
