“Location is good.”
Location is Good. But Need to clean up Room....
“Zach”
No a convenient location for shoppers
“Too bad, the buidling will be removed to build new condo”
The hotel is getting old. Some rooms are good, some rooms are not. It locates near botanical garden which is convenience for people who like to visit botanical garden. It is also close to the city, so it is not expensive to take a taxi to go to the city. The hotel is situated in the quiet residential neighborhood, so it is safe and nice. I have stayed in this hotel for a few times already. They told me they are going to demolish the building to give way to the condos. That is a pity. Otherwise, I will always come back to it.
“BEEN BACK OVER AND OVER”
This hotel is VERY CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN ...if that`s what you want.... book here...cause it`s not that expensive...considering what`s around you...and the prices they charge. I must of been back 4 to 5 time now.
“worst hotel”
This is not a 3 star hotel, its more like a -1.5. The walls have mold on them, there are stains all over the walls, the toilet flush does not work. The staff is unfriendly and there are people sitting in the lobby to be roommed for hours at a time. over all a horrible experience.
“very good value”
very good friendly service. hotel clean and staff look after patrons well.
“1/2 star hotel 3 star price”
Staff were not particularly helpfull, in fact they were very rude. we had advised the hotel we would not be arriving until after 2 am, yet 1 of our rooms was not ready. We paid for 2 deluxe rooms and if these were deluxe I would hate to see the standard rooms, when I questioned if we had been given the deluxe rooms, they suddenly couldnt speak english and didnt understand what I was talking about, I was then told that they are all deluxe rooms. The carpets were all stained and smelt, the beds were lumpy and the floor would have been softer. There was mould in the bathroom and paint peeling. We had to ring 3 times to get some hand soap and towels. Nothing in the mini bar we gave up trying to get some bottled water and bought our own, which they then tried to charge us for. The swimming pool was dirty with lots of missing tiles. The walk way carpets in the hotel, were all damp and stained and smelt awefull. The first day at breakfast people were eating and the staff were dragging chairs across the floors and putting them outside to be cleaned. We had the buffett dinner, very nice, but half way during the meal with the restaurant packed, they started wheeling through trolleys of dirty dishes from the other restaurant. This is a 1/2 star hotel with a 3 star price. The only saving grace was the doorman, the only pleasant, happy, helpful person in the place.
“I would not go back!”
Not well managed, don't cater to quests. Internet was not working, No slippers for room. Rooms were far from lobby, location not convenient. I was expecting more.
“Affordable average hotel... but fairly tired.”
The staff were friendly. The shuttle service was efficient when available but was rather limited in frequency and consisted only of a minibus for quite a large hotel which meant that we sometimes had to rely on the local buses and taxis. The local buses run regularly and it is only a 5-10 minute ride to Newton Circus or Orchard Rd where one can connect with the MRT. In retrospect we should have used taxis more. A taxi from the zoo/night safari home was only about $17 so I would definitely avoid the expensive tour options. The bathroom was fairly clean except there was some mould in the grout of the tiles in the shower which was not cleaned during our entire 7 day stay. In retrospect I should have specifically requested that it be cleaned as the cleaning staff were pleasant enough. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean and changed regularly but the bed sheets had small holes in it on multiple occasions. We had 2 interconnecting rooms which were spacious but the carpet, although clean, was stained and worn. There was a flat screen tv in each room and cable tv. Breakfast was generally good. The swimming pool was clean but also tired looking with some tiles missing. We chose this hotel as our optiions were limited for affordable accommodation for a family with interconnecting rooms and a swimming pool. The Singapore Formula 1 was starting on the last 2 days of our holiday which also limited our options in better locations.
“Don't do it!”
For the states standards, this is the equivalent to a Motel 6! The room furniture is very old dirty, mattresses uncomfortable and low to the ground. I was scared to take my shoes off in the room due to carpet stains and dirt along the edge of the walls, needed to be deep cleaned. First 2 days my room was not cleaned even with the "please clean room" sigh on door knob. Staff was unfriendly and rude-never greeted upon entering hotel, always felt as if I was a nuisance. Internet coast $12 per 30 minutes, only 2 computers printer did not work-better off using an internet cafe at Central mall. Impressed when enter the hotel lobby, but it is a set-up, this place is in desperate need of renovations. NOT WORTH THE PRICE, spend a little more and be comfortable...I couldn't even take off my shoes!
