“Great quality - close to train station”

This is a good quality hotel if you are needing something near the airport. Also, getting downtown Sapporo is accessible via the train station (about 40min)

“Thoroughly depressing hotel experience”

The Hotel Nikko Chitose is deeply unimpressive from start to finish. Firstly, for an airport hotel to have a shuttle bus that runs only once every 90 minutes is pathetic. Next, the hotel itself completely fails to cater for a clientele that is naturally 24 hours. When we arrived at 11.30pm there was no restaurant or bar or room service available. Even raiding the mini-bar was impossible as it was empty. The hotel gave us a map of restaurants that might be open in the miserable locality of parking lots, warehouses and clapboard Japanese houses. We forced the only person on duty to call ahead, and did find a very acceptable sushi restaurant (no English but sign language is fine) about 10 minutes walk away. Fraid we never knew its name. Stay in Sapporo is my advice, happy travels, Sam
