“Great Stay”

The room was very nice and new! No problems with temperature of the room or water. It was comfortable enough to spend time in the room as well as get a good night's rest. For enjoying some time in Portland for a low price, it was ideal! Breakfast was not much of anything and definitely runs out quickly. It was something but it did leave me hungry for an early lunch.

“Great for events at the Rose Garden”

This hotel is great if you are going to any event at the Rose Garden. It is about 5 blocks away from and walking to it is no problem. Plus you don't have to pay for any kind of parking. And on your way back, you can stop off at a bunch of different restuaraunts to eat at. The room was quite comforting. I give this hotel a A++.

“Better than Home”

This was my first visit to Portland and as such wanted to be near the downtown and major sightseeing areas. After researching the options and reading the different reviews, Shilo Inn seemed to be a good option. With a single child a room with a king size bed made perfect sense. They also had a sofa fold-out on which a person could sleep. The rooms were clean and above my expectations. Tips / observations: 1. Don't iron your clothes. They have an iron and a board in each room 2. Each room has wireless internet free so makes sense to carry a PDA / laptop to decide those last minute excursions 3. Ample of parking space 4. The washroom could be a bit bigger but the spaciousness of the room makes up for it 5. There's a nearby 7/11 hence water can be bought from there. The hotel charges $1.5 per 500 ml :(

“Generous hospitality for the price”

The Shilo Inn was very close to down town yet, a safe clean area. Our room was quiet. Parking was easy. Free train was only two blocks away. The morning comp breakfast included quality burritos besides the usual donut cereal and yougarts. The front desk was qick to respond to our needs and generous with tourist info. BRAVO! We will return.

“Rose Garden Shilo. Niiiiiiice”

Awesome remodel, great location. We walked across the(i think)Broadway bridge to downtown with ease. Staff was great, beds were comfy, 7-11 next door for booze and food. What more could you ask for?

“Clean, Comfortable. Reasonable”

The cleanliness and interior of the rooms exceeded expectations. Although from the outside it looked like your typical motel, inside the upgrades were nice, cofee pot, microwave, nice linens and arm chair. just lovely. The front desk service on check in left quite a bit to be desired, but the woman who attended us on checkout was lovely. Hit or miss on service, but overall reasonably priced and comfortable. would definitely stay again.

“A sleeper”

Great hotel and friendly staff. New/clean, good location, internet, free parking. The only downsides were: no elevator to second floor; slightly tricky to drive toward downtown as you have to cross busy Weidler street; and the room was small (but nice!). None of these bothered us.
