“Lovely”
Wonderful holiday.
“wonderful honeymoon getaway”
tucked away in secluded Khao Lak, this hotel was a really nice escape. the beach is wonderful and peaceful, no real waves but nice beach bean bags along the sand for reading, resting and 2 platforms to swim out to. sand is good for sandcastle-making. lots of pretty seashells. we were given a 2 night free upgrade to a pool villa from the original lagoon villa we had booked. every evening, complimentary snacks were served in our room. they even gave us a "happy honeymoon" cake and bottle of champagne one night. the international buffet breakfast is really amazing and changes slightly every day so you don't get too bored. we stayed for 6 nights. There are about 6 restaurants in the hotel and if you walk down the beach to Rim Lay you can get cheap local food. the food was not ridiculously expensive when we converted to US dollars but also did not blow us away in quality. we tried the japanese/korean restaurant (twin pavilion) and it was not that good. we took the hotel shuttle to town one night and ate at Khao Lak Seafood Restaurant - that was tasty and affordable. One of the best finds was a Currywurst berlin pub (bright yellow awning) located next to a steak house on the way to town. if you're tired of thai food, this really hits the spot: beer and currywurst! the spa was also really great.
“Great Spa!”
The hotel was really clean and had a good choice of restaurants and bars. The Spa is great and offers a wide variety of treatments as well as beach massages. The swimming pools are also fantastic and the beach is almost deserted in either direction so is very peaceful. The hotel is about 20 minutes away from Khao Lak town though so you need a tax or the shuttle bus to get into town. Overall a lovely hotel and I would stay there again
“Blissful Retreat”
Having read previous reviews I was very concerned about staying at Le Meridien, however, I'm delighted to say that I loved every minute and will definitely go back. Our Pool Villa was beautifully equipped with a huge bathroom (outdoor shower, indoor shower, sunken bath, twin basins and wc) Plasma TV, Plunge Pool and Jacuzzi, the beach was virtually deserted, there's an enormous main pool with lazy river and adult lap pool set close to the Spa and away from the main resort for extra peace and quiet. There are numerous restaurants to choose from (Grill, Thai, Beach Seafood, Main Buffet, R&N where you can even BBQ food at your own table whilst listening to live music). At times the service was a little wobbly, but please remember that 5,000 people were killed in this region during the Tsunami, so training is on-going. However, the staff are keen to learn languages, they are charming and will do their absolute best to help resolve any issues as quickly as possible. For any guests who love lively resorts such as Patong Beach, then I'd suggest this isn't the place to stay, as Le Meridien stands entirely on it's own stretch of beach 1 1/4 hours away from Phuket or 10 minutes from Khao Lak. However, it's bliss for anyone who loves peace and quiet!
“For those who want to experience paradise!”
The staff at the hotel are really attentive and friendly. The design and theme of the rooms as well as the resort is just spectacular and it really helps to create an atmosphere of serenity. The beach and pools just add to the exceptional experience and we hope to one day return.
“This place is heaven on earth....”
We have just had the most amazing two weeks holiday - it was so hard to leave... There is nothing to fault about this resort! From the amazing buffet breakfast to the free activities everything is amazing. The restaurants on the beach are delicious and friendly - definitely the places to eat. Our teenage daughters also loved it and cant wait to return next December.
“Very beautiful location”
Very nice resort with a beautiful beach. Especially the villas are great. Location is in the middle of the Nature a trip to the next bigger town takes 15 minutes by taxi. We are definitively looking forward to go there again.
“Can't wait to go back”
Amazing 2 weeks spent here relaxing and exploring the local area. We had 2 young children (6 & 4) with us and they loved it. Extremely friendly people & the service was great. Stayed in a beach front villa that was beautiful. We did not want to leave & we all look forward to the next time we can return!
“Great Service & Scenary!!!”
The moment you walk in you are greeted by one of the staff and welcomed with a orchid lei. Next, you are walked over to a lounge area to sit & relax while the staff checks you in ;-) Also, you receive a tropical fruit drink too!! The rooms are comfortable & the glass showers and glass walls in the bathroom are fabulous!! The service was excellent...very attentive staff and they remember your special requests. Great place for couples and families as well in a quiet area made for relaxing.
“Wow! What a fantastic resort!”
This is a beautiful resort, right on the beach. Super well maintained, very comfortable + friendly. It was so nice I had a hard time getting my wife and daughter (who is 9) out of the resort to see anything else! The resort amenities are all first class - 3 pools, fitness room, child care, beach, restaurants, and large rooms. We were happy with it all. The staff is super friendly and attentive. This is definitely the nicest resort in Khao Lak and probably on the entire Andamen coast. We were there in March 2008.
