“Stay in the Carriage House”
My husband and I stayed in the carriage house, and it exceeded our expectations. We loved the fireplace, exposed stone wall, clawfoot bathtub, and beautiful king size bed. The location by the market was awesome. We loved our stay in Chestnut Hill and the Chestnut Hill Hotel was a fantastic place to stay.
“Charming hotel in Chestnut Hill”
I was attending a conference in Philly and could not find a place in center city for all three nights... So glad I couldn't because I really enjoyed my stay at Chestnut Hill Hotel. It was an easy walk to the train station to take the regional rail in to center city, and there were charming shops and restaurants in Vhestnut Hill that tempted one away from conference responsibilities. The facilities of the hotel were nice, the complimentary breakfast, while hardly impressive, was certainly adequate, and the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel also offers free parking. Chestnut Hill Coffee shop was a few blocks away and served very good coffee and pastries. Definitely recommend.
“Perfect boutique hotel, perfect location!”
Loved everything about my latest stay at Chestnut Hill Hotel. The renovations are amazing! The lobby and rooms are completely updated and look fantastic! I liked the hotel before but LOVE it now! And the service was impeccable from the front desk to a very kind woman who was helping in the continental breakfast room (who heard my mom coughing and without asking went to the back and brought over a bottle of water and stayed to make sure she was ok) We are already planning our next weekend there! thanks to everyone at CHH!!!
“great hotel for family or individuals.”
Old style with modern services. Located in an early American part of town. Very pleasant surroundings and staff. I plan on staying there any time I'm in the Philly area.
“Highly recommended”
Great location.the restaurant was excellent and obviously very popular. No complaints.
“Darling Boutique Hotel”
This is a charming hotel and terrific staff. Our stay was great thanks to the hotel staff . They went out of their way to help us when our room wasn't warm enough to fix the issue promptly. They recommended a driver,Charles, to take us to and from University of Penn for my teen to tour . He was great and we hired him to take us to the airport too. This was a great place to stay and the restaurant beside the hotel was tasty too. The hotel's breakfast was ample and the china plates were a charming touch.
“Charming Smaller Hotel”
This hotel is situated in the heart of the unique Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. Staff was very friendly and hard working. Hotel nicely decorated with prints / other items from earlier periods in the area's history. A few quirks, such as taking a while for the hot water to come on, but overshadowed by the charm of the hotel.
“Hotel is nice but Chestnull Hill neighborhood is disappointing”
When we first checked in we were offered the room facing gigantic AC unit on the roof of lower floor. It was making noise like a jet on a take off. The room was on the fourth floor. Luckily the other room was available otherwise we would not stay there. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room and the bed comfortable. I used to live in Chestnut Hill about 12 years ago and was looking forward to re-visiting this neighborhood. What a huge disappointment! Half of Germantown avenue is under construction, there are hardly any interesting little stores, practically no Halloween decorations anywhere - stores or houses (we stayed Oct. 25-28).... We went for a walk on Germantown avenue at 8 p.m. and it was so dead and dark, I doubt that we saw more than 5 people. Seemed like midnight. All together Starbusks is a highlight of the area. The hotel itself is OK and its a relatively short drive downtown but I wanted to show Philadelphia to my friend from other country and surely was wishing we stayed downtown instead.
“A serene change from the huste and bustle”
This is a very pleasant boutique hotel in a wonderful village-like neighborhood. The adjacent restaurant is surprisingly good, and whoever did the interiors did a fabulous job. My bath only had a shower, no tub, but it was large and immaculate. The Occitane shampoo etc was a lovely touch. Bottom line: if you don't need to be downtown, this is a great place to stay. Chestnut Hill is gorgeous-- old gardens and older stone houses - so it's a terrifc place for long walks and bits of interesting shopping.
“Not Too Sure”
I got a room at this hotel and was quoted one rate. However, when I showed my Expedia confirmation, I was told that they needed to make a copy, and would show it to a hotel manager. When I received my bill in the morning, they did not honor my quoted rate. Now, it's only a $10.00 difference but still. The room was small but comfortable. However, there was a cracked window in the room. This was a very large crack and very unsightly. If I were to go back, I would request a different room.
