“Great apartment”
Excellent location, across the street from the Jardins des plantes, which attracted locals as well as tourists. Very close to brasseries, patisseries, pharmacy, food stores, and the Gare Austerlitz, making trips throughout Paris so convenient. Reception staff Enzo and Delphine were very helpful and welcoming. I plan to return.
“felt like home in Paris”
This is more of an apartment than a hotel, and we were very comfortable. while the room was very plain (some paintings or prints on the walls would make a huge difference!), and had no view, it definitely served our needs. great shower and bath with plenty of hot water. Kitchen was adequate. We requested twin beds because sofa beds are notoriously bad, and they were good. Very close to Metro, cafes, train station. Quiet as it is across the street from natural history museum and botanical gardens. easy to get on batobus and see Paris while cruising Seine. downside: no parking, and not staffed 24 hours. Internet wireless fee steep but it worked. Would definitely stay again. Great value! ask for a room on a higher floor and you might get a view.
“Great hotel”
The front desk was helpful and the room looked exactly like it did in the photos. The location of the hotel is right across the street of the natural history museum. We did have a little trouble finding it because we couldn't find the address. The only downside of staying here was that we couldn't figure out how to use the air condition or if there was air condition. This made the room feel stuffy. When I opened the window in the kitchen, I could smell cigarette smoke and flies came in the room. And when I opened the other window next to the bed, the sound of the traffic was too noisy. Other than that, it was a nice, unusually big (for Europe) place and clean and comfortable.
“No room service for one week”
You have to take out your garbage, buy your soap and shampoo, no towels changed (and they have very old towels), no room cleaning for one week: this should give you an ideea on what to expect. I forgot to mention I had to ask twice for toilet paper. One phone call for 30' was 1.5 euro. For the price we paid, our expectation was to have at least a clean room. My advice: FIND SOMETHING ELSE, DON'T GO THERE!
“Awsome Studio”
My partner and I here is Sept 09. We arrived at 9am and our room was ready early, which was wonderful after a long haul flight. Our room was expectionally clean and even though the kitchen is simple (microwave, stove, kettle, fridge, utensils) it is ample to whip up a few things. The lady on the front desk was soo helpful, she spoke English, was able to give advice on tourism spots, transport and even put our clothes in the dryer for us! The nearest train station is Gare Austerlitz which is the major station for Eurorail. McDonalds is on the corner with free wifi. The whole city is able to be walked but the station is there to make quick trips. Things are closer than they appear on Google maps. There were some markets with a 5min walk and a supermarket around the corner.
“Good choice”
Excellent location, close to the Latin Quarter and metro. Is a good Hotel if you want something good/affordable in Paris. Is more an apartment than a Hotel room, the kitchen is very convinient if you want to safe extra money buying groceries and making your own breakfast.
“Great price for Paris”
It is located just one block from the subway station. However, there are no any attractions on the area. There are a few restaurants and they close early and do not open on Sundays. The only one that is always open is a McDonalds that is located on the corner and, by the way, it has free wifi. The hotel has self coin-laundry area what is very convenient and difficult to find in Paris. There are not any other additional services in the hotel. Sheets and towels are changed just once a week; and they do not do your bed or clean your bathroom. There is a small kitchen well dotated in the room. There is not air conditioned. Be careful with the reception hours. There is not always people at the front desk, so you have to call them in advance and they will give you the code to open the door and where to find your room's key. Do not try to email them, because they do not answer.
“Not Bad....”
IMO this hotel would be good for longer stays. It is pretty basic, but not so spartan that you are uncomfortable. It is next to the Jardin des Plantes, which has a great park and some nice museums. In addition, you can walk down to the river and have a nice picnic if the weather cooperates. There are some nice local restaurants with reasonably priced menus and two supermarkets within walking distance for the budget conscious.
“Staff friendly, beds.. not.”
Though the front desk personnel was friendly and informative, they were available at odd times, 8 to 12 and 4 to 7 daily, making it difficult to answer questions or get things that were needed during the off times. Also, the pull out couch was the noisiest and most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. If you moved a finger it would make noise. When your on your first trip to Europe, you really need to good nights sleep to be prepared for the next day of sight seeing, so that was one thing we lacked during our trip. Other than that, it sufficed but I'll be looking for a different hotel for my next trip.
“Great location! Nice studio apartment”
Hotel is in a great location next to the Jardin de Plantes, Very convenient to the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame etc, as well as the metro (Gare Austerlitz). Bed was a little firm (its a pull out bed) but you walk so much in Paris that it was no big deal for us. We found teh kitchen very useful for eating (paris is expensive). Rented a car at the Gare de Austerlitz very convenient.
