“no problems with my stay or service whatsoever.”

This was one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in. No problems with anything the 7 day's i was there.

Area recommendations

Anything in waikiki seemed very nice. I didn't venture into the city very much but what i did see didn't impress me on the city itself.

“Waikiki family vacation”

The two items that did not sit well with us were the size of the beds & no microwave in the room. We were told the beds were full size but felt more like plus size twin beds, the room is large enough to house two queen beds and we would highly suggest the hotel considers replacing them. It seemed ridiculous to us that the room had a mini fridge but no microwave in the room or one anywhere in the lobby/common area. When we did inquire we were told there was a $10/day use fee to have a microwave placed in our room. Otherwise we were very pleased with the hotel, it's staff, and the location.

“Waikiki walker”

Nice hotel for Waikiki walker. Enjoyed free hula, shopping and restaurant on Kalakaua and Kuhio.

Area recommendations

Take your Navi to avoid many one way streets. Recommend sharing your pancakes with your wife at Eggs & things. It will be overwhelming. Avoid going to Hys steak with your shorts. You may be sitting at seat #666 next to exit door.

“Brilliant Location”

Fantastic location at affordable cost. This hotel is smack bang in the centre of downtown Waikiki - you couldn't get a better spot other than on the waters edge. The Hotel has a deal with a local shuttle/trolley service that takes you to the Mall for free upon presentation of your hotel key. There is an Expedia travel desk in the foyer - I wouldn't recommend the staff there however, there is also another travel/tour company there who are fantastic - I would definitely use their services. Staff are friendly and the room albeit a little small was spotless. I would definitely stay here again next time I travel to Hawaii.

When to go

Hire a care - no longer than a day required - and drive around the island of Oahu - great to see, particularly the North Shore.

Shopping

Shopping not as fantastic as mainland America but still cheap for those wanting sneakers etc

“Beachcomber 1104”

The staff was very curtious and professional. We had no issue at all in any manner at this 3 star hotel. Looking forward to going back. After we stayed at two 5 star hotels at different islands and received better service at this hotel. It is smack in the middle of all the action on the main strip. Right across the street from the beach and just down the block, walking distance from the zoo and aquarium. We Valet parked each of the 5 nighs we were there and the employees ran to help you with your bags without even asking, could not even get that type of service at the 5 star hotels we stayed at. The housekeeping was so pleasant and very personable, EVA was a sweeheart.

Getting around

you do not need a car in this town. there are buses to get you around and tour buses as well.

Must see

Zoo and Aquarium....beach at night with all the torches light and hotel lights.

“Excellent stay”

We knew it was going to be great when the front desk clerk upgraded our room and had a complimentary box of chocolates delivered to our room after learning we were in Hawaii celebrating an anniversary. Accommodations, service, and central location to both beach and restaurants were all pluses. Only slight downside was you did get to share some evening entertainment from the International Market performances but we were aware of that going in - not obtrusive but noticeable. All in all we considered it a super choice and would recommend the Beachcomber on the service alone.

Area recommendations

Would recommend also getting out of the city itself and seeing some more of the island. Well worth the effort.

What to pack

Half the clothes and twice the money.

Dining

"Eggs and Things" for their famous pancakes for a breakfast. Possibly the best meal we had on the island.

Outdoors or beach

Tour the East and North Shore beaches for a decidedly different flavor of the island.

“can't wait to go back”

Excellent location, across the street from the beach access, great night life with street entertainment. Great shopping, next to the International Market Place and two other malls. Hotel room and service was marvellous, never slept in a better more comfortable bed.

Waikiki. Lots to do for everyone, beach, shopping, dining, entertainment.

Events and shows

The Polynesian Cultural Center is a must, opens at noon and closes after the show. Great entertainment and fun for all. Also the "Magic of Polynesia' dinner show starring John Hirokawa was excellent and although the food wasn't what we expected it was still very good (it was a set menu, you didn,t get to choose your food). The show was well worth it tho, and he made a helicopter appear and a lamborgheni disappear. There was also polynesian dancing inbetween the magic. There was also nightly entertainment at the International Market Place, and a couple of nights we also saw concerts in the mall.
