“Super value for money. Perfect hosts.”
My wife and I stayed from 27th to 31st Dec.2012. Upon arrival we were given a warm welcome by Andrew who made us a nice fresh pot of tea and offered us a slice of cake in the beautiful living room area, which he told us was ours during our stay. We stayed in the Bransdale room, which was located at the front of the house and offered superb views over the village and stream from the window seat. The room was very spacious, clean and offered tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits and a small box of chocolates. My wife particularly loved the four poster bed. The breakfasts were delicious and nothing was too much trouble for Andrew or Joan. Each morning we had the local weather forecast on the table which enabled us to make our plans for the day, which Andrew and Joan were always willing to help with too, often making phone calls or obtaining information from the internet for us. They also offered us help and advice with restaurants for our evening meals, again ringing and making bookings for us. I would highly recommend Burnley House if you are in the N.Yorkshire area, it is absolutely superb value for money. Thank you Andrew and Joan we loved our stay!
“Absolutely fantastic”
I stayed here for one night prior to running an ultra Marathon, I was met by the owner who encouraged me to leave my bags at the door while he made me a coffee with a cup cake, despite having his tea on the side (I arrived late, approximately 20:00) the owner explained that the local pub did meals till 20:15 and gave directions to the pub. The room was immaculate, I slept very well, there was television in the room altough I was busy doing final preparation for the race.. I had to leave at 05:00 the next morning and was given breakfast promptly when I got up. I had said to the owner the previous evening that I did not expect breakfast due to the early start which he would not hear of. All in all this has been one of the most pleasant stays I have every had anywhere, I do a lot of travelling and will definatley try to stay here again.
“Great B&B!”
When we arrived we were greeted by Andrew and Joan and given tea or coffee and a slice of cake, which was really nice, and then shown to our room. The room had everything one could want, and the breakfasts were to die for!Andrew and Joan really made us feel at home, and we will certainly go back.
“Burnley House best breakfast.”
Lovely clean hotel, breakfast and room fantastic, delightfull village.
“Great value”
This b&b is fine and I would stay again. Room was fine, clean, tidy and a lovely large bath tub. Tea, Coffee and chocolates in room with fresh milk provided. The room is old fashion but very comfortable and everything you need is there, however mobile phone reception is awful, may stay in the area was mainly business and the reason I chose the b&b because is was on route to my meeting the next day, the phone reception was an issue and also I couldn't get the wifi to work although that was a grat problem and in fairness in never asked. Great breakfast and all in all and value.
