“Great service”

Nice old hotel, beds a bit firm but decent bathroom, large flat screen and free wifi in lounge. Great staff and great location.

“not impressed one bit”

Good location,pleasant staff. Room quite small. Heat way too hot and did not respond to lowering the thermostat. Listened to music from the lounge most of the night. This made sleeping just about impossible. Shower pressure terrible.

“Comfortable and cean”

Small hotel with class. Nice, but small room. Had everything I needed and was very clean. Extremely helpful staff at desk. Complimentary continental breakfast was fine.

“Better than expected”

For staying in the city on a budget, I was VERY pleased with this hotel. It was tiny, and the halls were narrow, but the room was very clean and big enough for a bed and a dresser, which is really all I needed. The bathroom was very large in my opinion. The staff was very friendly and was willing to help with directions around the city. The complimentary breakfast was mostly breads and pasties, but be prepared to eat it there, not in your room. There is a charge to have it "to-go." I visited in June when there was record breaking temperatures and unfortunately the room never seemed to cool off. That's about my only complaint. However, I would absolutely stay at this hotel again!

I wouldn't bother going to Brooklyn for the famous Grimaldi's pizza. I was disappointed. I would however go for the Brushetta pizza at John's Pizza (44th St. near Times Square)! AMAZING!! Also, the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park has the best cheese fries I have ever put in my mouth...just don't get in the "B-line"...and expect to wait a long time...we waited a total of 45 minutes, but was SO happy we did!!

“A good modest hotel at a modest price”

We found the staff helpful and pleasant, the room quite adequate, not at all too small. Our only problem was that the toilet tended to get stopped up, and we were instructed to throw the paper into the trash can, as you often have to do in Mexico. Shouldn't have to do that here. I think the management needs to work on plumbing.

“What I expected”

Hotel Stanford was exactly what i expected it to be. Clean but nothing special. The Location is phenomenal and I dont think there's going to be a lot Hotels in Manhatten who can offer you the location for such a great price. Breakfast was good, but the Cafe ele where its served has room for like 20people. So if you're too late you're waiting 10-20min to be seated. Take it to your room will cost 10$ which i thought was stupid. But other than that i would recommend everybody who just wants a place to sleep for sightseeing in NYC.

“Great time in New York”

The zone is really great, you can walk a little and you are in Times Square, Empire, and the initial point of the buses tour. Good experience
