“step up from a hostel with hostile staff”

The hotel caters to groups of visiting tourists of various countries. Their is no air conditioning (hotel suggested I open the window) and the rooms are small, dingy and haven't been maintained in years. The amount of rust, mold and stained carpet in such a small room was rather revolting. Will gladly pay more money to a better hotel next time. Water pressure was good

“awful hotel in NYC”

my room was very dirty with a terrible smell. i won't go back to that hotel even though someone will offer me a room for free.

“Hotel Pennsylvania”

This is a very busy and old hotel, classic NYC. Great location but there is no AC and the bathroom was not very clean. The staff tries hard to accommodate its guests but there is only so much you can do with a facility that is this old.

“excellent location”

it is dirty, the bathroom knob was just for decoration, ript apart, they dont have locks in the doors. our room has a miniature window. The ubication is excellent the rest is awfull and dirty.

“Christmas in New York”

Very nice visit. Went in early December, during the week to bypass the holiday crowds. Fairly successful at not getting mobbed with lots of people.

“The best for the price”

Old but good comfortable place, all housekeepers were super friendly. Front desk ppl were a bit cold at check in and out.

“Poor Choice”

This hotel is in a prime location for travelers, but horrible rooms. We arrived via train late for check in. Lobby & location appeared good for our plans. Clerk informed us the TV's were not working. Then we headed off to the room....EeeeeK! Room #1: Dirty, run down and had a visibly broken head board w/ nails stick out! So back to the front desk we go to request another room. Room#2: Dirty, run down and 1/2 the size of Rm. #1, both beds are on a noticeable slant downwards towards the headboards. So back to the front desk we go to request another room. Room #3: Dirty, run down, but it's now 1:30AM and we are ready to collapse. So we checked the beds and fell asleep for the night. The bathrooms all had mold on ceiling, heaters, etc. Towels had holes in them, and the yucky list goes on & on..... In the morning we proceed to check out & get our continental breakfast I paid extra for, only to find out they forgot to include that on our keys. So they issue us another set of keys (4th) time at the front desk. They send us back up stairs to what appears to be just another hotel room. Run the key in the door to unlock a tiny room crammed with fellow travelers with not enough room to turn around, two toasters, 3 baskets of muffins, Danishes, and bagels, 2 non working coffee dispensers & a 5 gallon drum of OJ. What a disgusting mess! WE REALLY DON’T RECOMMEND!
