“Naples”
Maximus was a lovely host and made our stay special.
“Nice and warm hotel”
The hotel was really hard to find even if I printed the goggle map and even the taxi driver complained. The name is too small that you will not even notice it when you are already in front of it. When you enter the gate, it looks very old and doggy. But when you enter the hotel, it was an old well maintained hotel. The room is big and comfortable. Breakfast was included which is nice. The hotel manager (Maximo) is very friendly and provided us all the information on what we need from sightseeing to restaurants. It was very helpful to get recommendations on where to eat as restaurants are not that easy to find compared to other places in Italy. Restaurants are most concentrated in front of the Marina, but it is far from the hotel. On an overall, it is a very nice hotel and we very satisfied with the services and hospitality. Only disadvantage is its location. From the metro, you have to climb the street which is not that easy if you difficulty in walking.
“Nice stay, iffy area”
We loved our stay but weren't sure about the area. Not many places to eat close by. Not a place for everyone but we were glad we'd stayed there. Maxim makes it all great.
“Wonderful Hotel but Iffy Neighborhood”
The hotel and Maxim the host is wonderful. He went out of his way to take good care of us. Maxim will give you the code for free wi-fi, if you bring your own Ipod or laptop. Be advised the neighborhood (like much of Naples) seems a little on the rough side. But we had no problems at all. There are friendly markets nearby; great for finding salami-cheese-bread-wine as an alternative to eating out. Maxim will make the dining room available for this if you like. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Museum. We used the hotel as an alternative to staying near the airport; Maxim arranged for an early taxi and it worked out well for us. The front door is difficult to find, since Via Stella is actually a small side street (think alley). Just keep looking for the small plaque on the walls of the building. A helpful older neighbor lady will point to the door if she happens to see you dragging your suitcase down the street. Apparently she has helped others find the door. Once inside the gate, the hotel is wonderful, with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. Even extra storage space.
“Strange experience”
The hotel is a little bit hard to find and the building it's in looks very old from the outside (you may even think you've come to the wrong place), but as you get inside the hotel you'll get amazed at what you see, it's extremely elegant inside and the rooms are probably the most comfortable ones I've ever stayed, everything was thought of. The manager Maxim is very helpful.

“Loved it!”
My husband* and I stayed at Le Stanz del Vicere on our honeymoon, while in Naples in the heat of August. First of all, we loved the manager, Max. He went out of his way for all of his customers, not just us. Our rooms (we stayed there before and after a 5 day trip to Ischia) were very elegant, with luxurious bathrooms. We were very thankful for the air conditioning, too. Location-wise, it was perfect because the metro stop was close, and this made getting around Naples very easy. When we left for/returned from Ischia, the walk down Via Toledo from the hotel was relatively easy and overall, a great experience (kind of like walking in New York City). The only negative (but not for us) about the hotel would be for people who have trouble climbing stairs, as there is no elevator and the hotel is on the 3rd floor.
