“Would Definitely Go Back”

Really happy with hotel, self contained room with kitchen, washer/dryer. Comfortable clean and walk out the front door to the free circle tram. Room service supplied by external cafe so not available all hours but hey you have a kitchen and walking distance to all manner of eateries. Only small critisism was that there were no towels in the gym/pool areas. Overall wouldn't hesitate to return.

“Great Location, comfortable & clean, would definitely recommend”

My husband and I stayed at Medina Executive Northbank for 5 nights, in a 1 bedroom apartment. The full-size kitchen was well stocked, modern and clean and the apartment was serviced daily. The bathroom was spotless and included a washing machine and dryer. The lounge had a 3-seater couch, coffee table, writing desk and a table with 4 chairs. The lounge and bedroom both had an air-conditioner and TV. We had a king size bed which was firm but comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space. Our apartment was on the 4th floor and had a balcony. The traffic noise was minimal, and I actually enjoyed laying in bed listening to the dinging of the trams. Initially, I was unsure about the location of the hotel but didn't need to worry. It is a 5 minute walk to the Crown Casino complex, and right across the road are Pizza bars, Michels Patisserie, Nando's. The Keyif Café has great food, and for those who want to self-cater, there are 7/11 stores on just about every corner. Another great point is the City Circle Tram stops right out the front. It is a free service and is so handy for getting around the city. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it and stay here again!

“great position”

Hotel was clean, staff eager to please and courteous. On arrival our room was made up as a queen bed not 2 singles as requested, I rang reception and a staff member was up within 2 minutes and quickly changed the beds to 2 singles, all was done quickly and with a happy disposition. Facilities were great with separate bedroom and cooking availability which enabled us to prepare our own breakfast and also tea on one occassion when we were too tired to go out.The location was a real bonus for us as we were attending the "food and wine " show at the exhibition centre just across the Yarra river. It was also fabulous to find food as the city circle tram went from outside the hotel , we were able to catch this to Docklands to eat out. Crown casino was across the bridge and had many eateries. As well the hotel had a cafe which we did not try but the menu sounded great. If you wanted to cook yourself there was a 7/11 store on the corner and IGA express 2 blocks along spencer st. The station was only 2 blocks away which meant we chose to catch the train to Melbourne as opposed to driving in traffic and then having to park. Overall a happy stay and would stay again and recommend to others.

“Will stay here again next time we are in Melbourne”

This was a great spot, close walk to Southern Cross Station to pick up airport transport and the free tram at the door. The staff were very courteous and helpful, the room (apartment) had everything required for our needs. Would have no hesitation in recommending to friends.

Melbourne is a great city with lots to see, make sure you visit St Kilda and take the free tram for a city sight seeing tour and also the free bus that takes you to the major tourist venues.

“Perfect location for Crown Conference without the price tag”

Great expedia deal meant this was the perfewct location for access to the crown complex, without it being super expensive. Room was large, modern. A little far out of the way if you are spending all your time shopping in the city centre, still a comfortable 4 block walk if you don't have much to carry. A little dissappointed that a later check out of just 1 hour carries a $60 fee.

“A Fantastic experience”

We had a very comforatable and enjoyable stay at Medina Northbank. The staff were very friendly and assisted us considerably with directions. (24hrs) The room was well maintained, clean and nicely furnished. This was important for us as the weather was cold and wet. On all three nights we stayed there we enjoyed room service (dinner) and movies. The location of the hotel is also ideal, with the city circle tram right at the door. The Crown Entertainment Complex, Federation Square as well as a wide variety of shopping precincts are within walking distance (5-10mins). Overall, a highly recommended hotel, for both short and long stays.

Area recommendations

Southbank is a great place to visit. It boasts a wide variety of shopping experiences, the casino, movies and great dining places.

Getting around

The extensive tram network is very reliable and economical way to get around Melbourne. Hotel staff are always happy to direct you to the correct tram routes. There is also the free city circle tram, which will take you to the main attractions eg. Fed Square in the city.

What to pack

Melbourne's weather is extremely unpredictable, so it's important to back both warm and summer clothing, regardless of what seaons you are going there.

“Ideal Location For Conferences At Convention Centre”

Selected this hotel because of its great location to the Melb. Convention Centre. Rooms looked great on the Web site and guest reviews generally very good. On checkin we were very disappointed with our one bedroom apart. It did not resemble anything like we were expecting from the web site photos. Very small & box like & the decor very tired. View from all windows of derelict roof tops. Reception quickly went out of their way to find us an apartment that better suited us. The one we selected on the 10th floor was nicer in all aspects, but it was again, very small. The airconditioners in both the bedroom and living room were very poorly located. Both positioned so that blew directly onto our faces when we were relaxing on the lounge or in bed. No showercaps in bathrooms was very frustrating on the first morning & surprising in a hotel of this' quality'. The decor in the reception area is beautiful and it is a very comfortable, home like spot to sit and relax while waiting for guests, pickups etc. Hotel location was good in many regards. Trams, including the 'free tram' stop at the front door every 10 - 15 mins and it is very easy to get to all parts of the city from here. We comfortably walked here from the Skybus depot in less than 10 mins. The general locale is very average, footpaths in poor condition with a Youth Hostel and pub next door. For the same cost, we have stayed in much better places and will probably never stay here again.

Area recommendations

Little Bourke Street between King St and Queen St because there are lovely trees on the streetscape and it is quiet but very close to the shops, restaurants, trams etc. or up near Exhibition St. Parliament House etc again for the streetscape and loaction for theatres and restaurants.

Getting there

If arriving into Melbourne by plane the Skybus is one of the best airport services we have found anywhere in the world. It departs every 10 mins for the city (and from the city to the airport) and offers complimentary drop off at your accomodation (hotel) if it is in the main city area. The cost is very cheap in comparison to taxis (less than a quater of the price per person). We have also used a limousine service in the past when staying out at Sth Yarra and this was almost the same cost as a taxi, just a little more expensive. However, the driver was waiting for us at the luggage carousel, carried our bags to the car, had water for us and drove extremely safely - a wonderful service.
