“Bad Matress and bad shower, varies too much temperature”
Should be a 2 star hotel, staff was very cool but the matress and the shower didn´t feel good at all.
“Great Experience”
I would highly recommend the Best Western Carlos V in Madrid. Ir is located in the center of the shopping district. We were surrounded by wonderful shops and restaurants and 2 short blocks from the Grand Via. The Palace and the Prada Museum were with in walking distance. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful and fluent in English. We were able to get one room that sleeps 3 people - not easy to find in Spaiin. Free wireless internet was great and they had an internet station so we could print our return boarding passes. Only negative was the beds were a little firm. When I return to Madrid, I will go back to this hotel.
“Very convenient”
Stayed just recently, in July. Found the location to be excellent. The rest was pretty much in line with what u expect in a 3 star hotel. Carpet in the room needs to be replaced. Bathroom a bit tight but clean. Overall a good experience.
“Perfectly situated!”
During our short stay, we were able to enjoy the sites and shopping in Madrid without actually renting a car or getting in a cab! Loved the old look and the suit of armor in the lobby was a perfect addition to the decor! Would recommend to others and so glad that we booked on the recommendation of a friend who stays there whenever she goes!
“Great Location with a big room”
Located in down town area and most of the attractions are in walking distance. Two metro stations are just around the corner of the hotel. Room is quite big enough for 3 ppl compare to others european hotels. Hotel personnel are very helpful. I would stay there again, if I go back to Mardird.
“Great location”
We stayed in this hotel twice and found it comfortable and convenient. The location is ideal, within easy walking distance of the Puerta del Sol. We even walked to the Prado.
“Classic Carlos V Madrid”
Classic, centrally located low-key small hotel. Excellent breakfast, for extra charge. Faces on pedestrian-ized street in center of Old Madrid. Fun view from street-front rooms, but somewhat noisy, especially in the wee hours when store delivery vans woke us up. I'll try a rear room next time.
“Great location, a few warts”
Hotel is in great location, and front staff were good. Room was showing its age a bit, but the bed was decent. Shower was good with a full enclosed door which should be standard (but European showers often do not have a full door or curtain and water spills out). Biggest drawback was that our room and floor were supposedly smoke free. However, guest across hall smoked like chimney. Worse was that there was an ash tray in the room EVEN THOUGH ROOM SAID SMOKE FREE ON IT. Also, room was warm since a/c does not work in winter. But overall a decent stay. Would have been good if smoking issue is enforced.
“Excellent Madrid hotel”
The hotel is an ideal, small European hotel. I will try to stay there again on my next visit to Madrid.
“great if you don't mind a little noise”
Great location, nice hotel for the price, only neg. street noisy at night
