“wasnt terrible”

This hotel is badly in need of a renovation. My TV didn't pick up channels clearly, the toilet leaked water all over the bathroom floor, and my heater-ac unit stopped working on day, but it was fixed promptly. The free breakfast was below average. The staff was very courteous and the cleaning staff did a good job. It wasn't terrible if you only have to stay there one night on route to or from the airport, but I will look for.another hotel nxt time. Parking is also a problem.

I view the hotel as a 147 room home with 147 bathrooms – the reason we have a 5 man maintenance team on property is comparable to a person who owns a home with 147 rooms and bathrooms – maintenance issues occur; the “test” is how promptly are the issues addressed – seemed to have done well in this case. Parking – every other hotel on Century Blvd. Hotel Row charges from $17.50 to $24 per night for parking – the lots general are not close to the hotel’s entrance. There is no charge at the Travelodge – parking is relatively close to rooms; so your decision is FREE or pay. Moderate room prices while being the only property along hotel row to have free Wi-Fi and breakfast bar – again if you want a more modern hotel and NOT sacrifice security due to the location of the property then the reality is you will pay more. If you want a clean room…you do not want to pay for parking; close proximity of a restaurant (Denny’s on site), courtesy staff – security on duty all at a moderate price then you have just described Travelodge Hotel at LAX. The hotel does not have flat screen TV’s – LodgeNet provides the service. Currently the façade of the hotel is being painted and each week 3 rooms are being updated – that does not mean we are changing the 1950 vintage architectural design of the hotel.

“Price is Right”

Not fancy or pretty but price is right

I find my parent adrenalin coming out when the hotel is defined as "not pretty" - perhaps as parents we know our child might not be the next Miss America but in our hearts she is just as worthy as any title recipient. Yes, the hotel will be entering its 59th year. The staff care for "her" as a very special "person" in their work life. She is a grand "aging" lady - she has quite a history. The first lodging facility across the street from the original terminal; - now "she" is nestled between the super structures of the major flagships. Come for a visit - perhaps not pretty but very charming.

“Good place”

We were early, but we were checked into our room immediately. The room was big and comfortable. Eating places close by and the shuttle was prompt to pick us up at the airport and take us back the next morning. We left before the breakfast was available, but they had packaged sweet rolls and fruit available for the early departurees in the lobby. We would stay here again if we need a one night lay over to catch a plane. Restrooms could use some paint, but noticed they were redoing the wallpaper in the hallsway. A really big shower in our bathroom. Nicely decorated inside and out and they had a nice pool too.

Dining
There is a Denny's right next to the motel and we had a delicious dinner there. We also purchased some snacks in the gas station store on the same block.

We have recently made three modifications to our continental breakfast program..1) For departures prior to 6 a.m. fruit and Danish is provided in the lobby 2) Created additional seating by extending the breakfast room into a patio area and 3) On Saturday and Sunday mornings for late sleepers who miss the 6 to 9 a.m. continental breakfast, fruit, Danish, and coffee are available in the lobby. The Denny's Restaurant which adjoins the hotel provides food service 24 hrs. a day. Stop in when you visit as the restaurant reopens on Monday morning December 6th after a week of renovations. The hotel also has ongoing room and property upgrades being addressed. We appreciate your comments regarding your stay - the objective of each of our 57 staff members is to insure that each guest has a relaxing stay with us.

“Adequate”

Clean enough. Pretty noisy - tiled hallways meant excessive noise when other guests walked by with roller suitcases. Very confusing room layout, eith inadequate signage.

Yes, the architect who designed the property in the 1950ties paid little attention to room logistics. Consequently, we have directional aids through the property. However, at night, we are aware that searching for a room while being tired from travelling can be challenging. The front desk, bellmen, and security staffs are on duty 24 hrs. a day to lend assistance. A priority of the management and staff is to minimize noise so that the hotel's guests can rest undisturbed. We have added mats to help muffle the sound of luggage rollers and carts. Always pleasing to learn that a guest found their room comfortable.

“Good for little budget”

Not far from thé airport, good for little budget And little break to Lax.

“one night only”

thank God this was a one night only the room was so fare from the front desk and no elevator that we could find room was comfrotable but would not come back again

In previous reviews where distance to guest rooms was a complaint, I have commented that when tired after a long flight, locating luggage, trekking to the hotel/car rental pick-up sites and getting on and off shuttles - then 100 feet could seem like a long distance to a guest room. The furthest room from the front desk is about 600 feet - the logistics of the hotel can be challenging when tired from travelling. The buildings are interconnected in the pool area and the extend wing. We have staff on duty to assist guests locate their room (the key card holder contains a map of the property) and in taking luggage to the room. Also guests are advised that the hotel does not have an elevator. Staff is available to assist guests with their luggage.

“SMELLY DIRTY”

The room I got was in the back of the hotel. It appeared all the non-smoking rooms were in the back. The roomed smelled it smelled dirty. The window was open to try and keep it fresher smelling. I was afriad to sleep in the bed the bed spread looked worn and smelled. I would never stay there again.

First.the hotel only has 10 smoking rooms - 137 are non smoking which includes the rooms in the pool area. The priced that is booked by a guest determines room location.the lower the rate then you may have about 400 or 500 feet to walk to your room. Intrigues me when a person complains about the walk from the lobby (which is 15 feet from the entrance to the hotel)..then to their room. The major hotels on the boulevard have hundreds a feet to walk from the parking areas.entrance door to front desk.then to elevator and down corridor to guest room. Perhaps because at the Travelodge the walking is done outside the distance seems extremely long. I am sure that after a long flight, retrieving one's luggage, and locating the sometimes hard to find hotel shuttle pick-up sites that any additional distance to walk to a guest room is overwhelming.

“I'd go back when I need a room for a transfer flight”

It was a comfortable stay, I like the hotel room. No problem with parking or internet. The breakfast was decent. Only that the hotel is a bit bigger than I thought, gotta walk a long way in the rain before getting to my room. Other than that I love it.

“Quick overnight stay”

Good for a quick overnight stay while travelling. It was clean, had shuttle to the airport and simple breakfast.
