“Great Place to Stay”

The room was big and spacious. The toilet was clean and also big. it was very convinient because there was a kitchen and great livingroom too. The hotel was near to the shopping malls, which we walked in a few minutes. Overall, would definitely come again when i'm in johannesburg. not forgetting the great breakfast that they provided

“a friendly, comfortable and safe haven”

My husband and I stayed at Pembury Plaza Hotel for two nights before and two nights after our 14 day camping trip. We had a very comfortable stay at the start of our holiday. However after spending 12 nights in a tent on a 2.5cm sleeping mat it was total luxury. Both of our rooms had a bathtub. We really appreciated being upgraded to a suite with separate lounge and kitchen/dinette. All the staff at Pembury Plaza were extremely courteous and respectful. They are currently undergoing renovations so it will be even better very shortly. The new restaurant will now be open and if the breakfast is any indication, diners will be very well looked after. They also have a nearby delivery food service that caters to all types of casual dining. The inhouse bar provides wine, beer, coffee and hot chocolate etc at reasonable prices. NB error on website - Pembury Plaza is located in the suburb of Sandton not Alexandra.

“Good location, value for money”

The hotel is nice and really well located, walking distance from Sandton City. However if you get a room in the back (room numbers starting with a 3), you have to walk about 10 minutes to get to your room and you don't always have hot water (sometimes you just need to let it run for about 30 minutes before it warms up). But we got a really good deal on this hotel, so I can honestly say we got value for money, just try to get a room close to reception!

“You Decide”

This hotel was a little disappointing. First of all, we had trouble finding it because the name was different, it was called Westbury estates. We thought it might be the right one because of the location so we had to go in and ask. Then when we got in our room there was hair all over the sheets, no remote for the tv, missing lights in the bathroom, and the shower door did not close. Staff was nice, and location was alright, however you def need a rental car to get around. Overall its a decent hotel for the money and location but not high quality if thats what your looking for.

As the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport, and has a moderate tarriff, it is ideal for short stays in Johannesburg. Sandton City shopping complex is 20 minute walk away, but there is nothing else in the vinicity. Rating would be maximum 3 stars.
