OK for an overnight stay..Posted 08/05/2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed overnight before getting an international flight..good value for money. Room was basic but clean. The lift was out of order (which I had read in previous reviews!) Hotel kept our luggage in storage during the day while we were out and called us a taxi when needed. Very close to the Gautrain and Sandton centre. breakfast was not great but for 50euro I was not complaining!

Avoid this Hotel at by all meansPosted 07/05/2013 on Hotels.com
The first thing about my stay at this fine establishment is that I was utterly dumbfounded that any sane person could possibly rate this as a 3* Hotel??? In what alternative Universe would any sane guest could this possible be rated 3*? First, the room had a physical key with the room number and the location on the key, so if you lose your room key, anyone that finds it knows exactly were to come to take everything in your room. There was also no secondary locking system, just a 40 year old room key with no way to secure the room unless you put a heavy chair against the door to give you some warning that your room is being broken into. There was no light in the hall and you are required to walk up three flights of stairs in the dark at night. More fun could not be had walking up stairs in the dark. Next we come to the wonderful room. There was no reading light and the TV is a charming 30 year old 20” that had a hand control unit, with 5 great local channels. The so called breakfast was another charming affair with egg’s stale toast and colored juice as the offering. Just what one would expect in a fine 3* location. The help or lack of help was also quite reminiscent of a stay in Iraq or perhaps Afghanistan. I enjoyed this so much that I left two days early and found another hotel on my own. No sane person would ever rate this 3*. When I called customer service with Hotels.com I got the run around.

Convenient airport HotelPosted 30/07/2012 on Hotels.com
We stayed here for 1 night before catching an early morning international flight so it was perfectly located and convenient for that reason. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was lovely. There was no screen or curtain on the shower and water went everywhere.

Good value for the moneyPosted 17/07/2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel is pretty basic but the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent (a short walk to the train station, Nelson Mandela Square, and Sandton City Shopping Center). Their hot buffet breakfast (included) is also a nice perk. The only downside is that the restaurant is only open for breakfast and their internet (one only one computer) often does not work. For dinner, the hotel gives you a book with about 15 restaurants (and their menus) from which you can order delivery. Just tell the front desk staff what you want and they will order it for you. They will also arrange any local tours as well.

good location, needs refurbishingPosted 10/06/2012 on Hotels.com
For a 1-day stay between widely spaced out connecting flights, it was a good option. The room (actually a bedroom plus a living room) was very large and quite confortable. My room had a small kitchen area with an electric water heater. WiFi acess is paid separately and quite expensive, but it works well and is fast. Location is excellent, within walking distance to Mandela square and all that is there, as well as to Sandton Gautrain. Exact site of hotel itself is unapealling, right by a major highway. But just walk a couple of hundred yards and you are at center of things. Carpet looks hopelessly dirty and needs replacement. Room and general areas in obvious need of renovation. But then, its rates will be more expensive, won't they? So, one shouldn't complain too much. Yes, I would stay there again.

Westford Hotel and Suites - location is only proPosted 24/03/2012 on Hotels.com
If location is your one and only priority, this is the hotel for you as it is just a short walk from the Sandton Gautrain station. I would not recommend for anyone uncomfortable with minimal room security or someone who plans to spend much time on the property as it has not been updated for many, many years.

The Westford is close gau train and sandton mallPosted 03/03/2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is very neat and clean. it is very close to gau train metro station and sandton mall and all 4 and 5 star hotels. But it has no lift to go to higher floors. If you are handicap it is difficult to stay. The staff is very co operative and cordial. In breakfast they do not provide any fruits and the juice served is not very quality otherwise the breakfast is good. Surrounding atmosphere is good and clean.

The hotel isn't quite well kept, but the location is good, close to Gautrein Station and kind of close to Sandton City.
